Real Chemistry is seeking a talented and dynamic Medical Director, Publications, to join our growing Medical Affairs team. This role is an excellent opportunity to lead the development of cutting‑edge, high‑impact medical publications that elevate HCP education and transform patient outcomes.
What you’ll do:
Develop and execute comprehensive publication plans, ensuring alignment with client objectives.
Lead the writing and editing of high‑quality manuscripts for submission to peer‑reviewed journals, craft compelling abstracts and presentations for major medical congresses, highlighting key data and strategic messaging. Knowledge of systematic reviews, digital/online publications, plain language summaries, infographics, or podcasts is an asset.
Analyze complex clinical and scientific data to generate clear, engaging, and scientifically accurate narratives for publication and presentation.
Serve as the primary point of contact for clients on publication projects, building trust and maintaining open communication while providing strategic and tactical guidance.
Ensure all deliverables meet the highest standards of scientific accuracy, consistency, and compliance with style guidelines and ethical standards (ICMJE, GPP, PhRMA etc.).
Ability to measure and report using relevant metrics.
Provide leadership and mentorship to medical writers, fostering a culture of excellence and supporting professional growth within the team.
Contribute to business growth by supporting the development of new business proposals and participating in client pitches.

Qualifications
6+ years of experience in medical publications within an agency, with a demonstrated track record of delivering high‑quality publications.
Advanced degree in life sciences, medicine, pharmacy, or a related discipline (PhD, MD, or PharmD) preferred.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft clear, concise, and persuasive scientific narratives tailored to diverse audiences, including general physicians and specialists.
Demonstrated experience leveraging artificial intelligence (AI) tools and platforms to enhance the efficiency, quality, and innovation of scientific publication development, including but not limited to AI‑assisted literature review, data analysis, content generation, and workflow optimization.
Commitment to responsible and ethical use of AI in accordance with industry standards and company policies.
Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines across diverse accounts, maintaining high‑quality standards under pressure.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with digital content creation tools.
Pay & Benefits Pay Range: $130,000 – $150,000 This is the pay range the Company believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on job‑related, non‑discriminatory factors including but not limited to work experience, skills, certifications, and geographical location. The Company reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time.
