In addition to investment banking, the firm offers a range of services including asset management, equity research, public finance, and capital markets.

Job Summary This firm is seeking an additional originator/calling officer for their Corporate Finance practice to continue expanding their M&A capabilities. The Managing Director – Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) will be responsible for overseeing and driving the firm's M&A activities. This senior leadership role involves leading a team of professionals in executing complex transactions, managing client relationships, and contributing to the strategic growth of the firm.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage M&A transactions at all stages, from initial client pitches to transaction closings.

Oversee execution team's creation of marketing materials, financial analysis, and client presentations.

Communicate regulatory, financial information, and complex strategic issues clearly and concisely to assist decision-makers.

Market services to internal partners and external clients, develop client networks, and support sales and marketing strategies.

Ensure the quality of client deliverables with strong attention to detail.

Mentor and develop Staff, Vice Presidents, and Directors.

Handle a wide variety of projects and responsibilities based on experience and capabilities.

Execute M&A transactions and act a subject matter expert for the firm.

Collaborate with legal, accounting, and other advisory teams to ensure successful deal execution and regulatory compliance.

Lead client presentations, business development meetings, and develop work plans.

Plan and execute work, supervise team, and coordinate with other internal and external service providers.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree from a top undergraduate program; Master's or MBA preferred.

Minimum of 12 years of middle market investment banking experience, with demonstrated M&A execution expertise.

Currently an Investment Banking Director or Managing Director.

Proven track record of business development success.

Maintains Series 79 and 63 FINRA licenses.

Commanding knowledge of current market terms and trends.

Expertise in project management and client-facing activities.

Demonstrated ability to develop new business across a network of corporate relationships, private equity sponsors, lawyers, and/or lenders.

Ability to collaborate with team leads across Equity Research, Public Finance, and Asset Management business divisions.

Effectively communicates analysis through Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint, including high-quality messaging, structure, and formatting.

Proven track record of success in high-pressure, time-constrained environments.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including strong email etiquette.

Top-tier organizational skills and attention to detail.

Self-starter and entrepreneurial spirit.

Located or willing to relocate to Chicago, IL or New York City, NY.

Compensation

Base Salary: $250,000 - $300,000

Bonus: 15-35% of originations
