JOB OVERVIEW • Job Title: Physician Cardiothoracic Surgeon • Job Type: Locum Tenens • Location: Fort Myers, FL • Service Setting: Inpatient & Outpatient • Coverage Type: Clinical + Call • Coverage Period: 04/14 31/2025 • Clinical Shift Schedule: Monday Friday, 7:00a 5:00p; Rotating weekend inpatient coverage • On-Call Shift Schedule: Rotating weeknight and every 4th weekend • Call Type: Onsite • Call Ratio: Every 4th weekend • Call Response Time: Immediate PATIENT INFORMATION • Patient Demographics: Adults • Patient Volume/Census: Based on census; approx. 1500 cases performed annually by team • Admissions: Yes • Rounding: Included • Case Mix: Cardiac, Aortic, and Lung surgery (excluding esophageal procedures) FACILITY INFORMATION • Specialty Backup Available: Multidisciplinary surgical team • Support Staff Available: Surgical PAs, Open Heart ICU APRNs, Office-based APRNs • Reason for Coverage: Long-term locum coverage to support cardiothoracic surgical team PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE • Hospital Privileges Required: Yes • Temporary Privileges Available: Yes • Credentialing Timeline: 30 days COMPENSATION & BENEFITS • Rate: TBD • Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: Covered REQUIRED PROCEDURES • Cardiac surgery • Aortic surgery • Lung surgery JOB REQUIREMENTS • Licenses: Active Florida medical license • Certifications: Board Certified/Eligible in Cardiothoracic Surgery • Experience: Proven experience in all aspects of cardiac, aortic, and lung surgery • Other Qualifications: Willingness to collaborate with tenured and newly graduated surgeons in a high-volume setting; no telehealth DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES • Perform a range of cardiothoracic surgeries excluding esophageal procedures • Provide comprehensive inpatient and outpatient surgical care • Participate in rotating weeknight and weekend call coverage • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary surgical team to deliver high-quality patient care • Contribute to a practice performing 1500+ surgical cases annually
