Financial Analyst III | Utility / Energy Client
We’re looking for a Financial Analyst III to join a large utility client in Brooklyn, NY. This hybrid role (2–3 days onsite) is ideal for someone with a strong accounting background and analytical mindset who enjoys digging into the numbers, identifying variances, and making accurate accounting adjustments. This is a long‑term contract with a strong possibility of extension and conversion.
What You’ll Do:
Support financial accounting, reporting, and regulatory filings, including FERC Form 60
Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes
Analyze income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow variances vs. budget and prior periods
Reconcile accounts, investigate discrepancies, and post necessary accounting adjustments
Review non‑recurring transactions to ensure proper financial statement presentation
Partner with business units, Regulation, Pricing, and Record‑to‑Report teams to explain results
Compile and review financial data to support accurate and timely financial statements
Support financial and non‑financial controls and meet reporting deadlines
Prepare standard schedules to support UK IFRS and semi‑annual Group reporting
What You Bring:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
3–5 years of experience in accounting, financial reporting, or regulatory roles
Strong accounting knowledge with the ability to analyze data and draw conclusions
Experience supporting financial statements or audits
Knowledge of general ledger platforms and accounting systems
Advanced Excel skills (required)
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Strong attention to detail, communication skills, and a collaborative mindset

Pay: $70 – $74/hour. on w2
