General Purpose The Director, Investment, Digital leads the team that places, confirms, and monitors digital media orders to ensure flawless execution of clients’ advertising programs. This senior leader provides a high level of media expertise, strategic insight, and talent development.
Location Chicago, IL – 4 days in office.
Key Responsibilities
Develop comprehensive digital marketing plans, integrating paid media (programmatic, search, social) and other channels.
Lead a team of managers and staff to deliver exceptional results across multiple clients.
Educate and support teams in digital strategy, best practices, and campaign execution.
Oversee agency processes to ensure best practices and optimize workflows.
Create and present media strategy and recommendations; participate in client proposals and pitches.
Provide proactive POV documentation on industry trends and emerging technologies.
Ensure infrastructure for flawless campaign execution.
Lead advancements in data analysis and marketplace intelligence; educate stakeholders.
Represent agency with vendor contacts; evaluate media vehicles and tactics.
Participate in new business activities, RFPs, proposals, and presentations.
Manage and develop a distributed team; drive accountability, training, and retention.
Support new client onboarding efforts.
Job Requirements
Bachelor’s degree (communications, marketing, advertising, or business preferred).
10+ years in digital media planning, buying, or execution; agency experience a plus.
7+ years managing high‑performing teams.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations Preferred: Google Ads, Google Marketing Platform, Google Analytics, The Trade Desk Edge, Facebook Blueprint, Microsoft Ads, IAB Digital Media Planning & Buying.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Expertise in platform management tools (Google Marketing Platform, Google Ads, The Trade Desk, Facebook Business Manager).
Deep understanding of programmatic, paid social, and paid search within media plans.
Experience with direct buying, vendor negotiations, and POV development on emerging trends.
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
Strategic and executional flexibility.
Passion for purpose‑driven, client‑first culture.
Talent acquisition and personnel management skills.
Excellent communication and presentation skills for VP and C‑suite.
Ability to lead brainstorming and ideation with execution focus.
Self‑motivated, creative strategic thinker thrive in fast‑paced environment.
Compensation Annualized salary range: $115,000‑$130,000, based on experience and market.
