Pay Range $150,000.00/yr - $165,000.00/yr

Location Remote in the Boston, Massachusetts area

Purpose Increase enrollment and usage of the BBS program at a regional level.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with BIO membership staff, BBS staff, state and regional association staff, and BBS partners to identify and prioritize opportunities to expand awareness and visibility of the BBS program among qualified company candidates.

Schedule and conduct meetings (in person or by phone) with current and prospective member companies to educate them on the BBS program and encourage participation.

Coordinate with and include state and regional association staff and BBS partners in outreach meetings to leverage their relationships with member or prospect companies.

Represent BIO and its affiliated state and regional associations with a high level of professionalism, responsiveness, and ethics.

Develop and manage self-directed work plans, and track and report business development activities using the organization’s AMS and CRM systems.

Work collaboratively within a highly team-oriented organization, providing support to and building partnerships with internal and external senior leaders.

Support the Vice President of Business Development in identifying, developing, and managing new opportunities to grow program enrollment and participation.

Qualifications

College degree or equivalent years of work experience. Bachelors required, master’s preferred.

At least 10 years of professional experience in purchasing, sales, and/or business development in the life science industry.

Ability to develop strategies and campaigns that achieve concrete results and increase enrollment, participation and revenue for BIO.

Strong knowledge of the life sciences industry, especially in the sales and/or purchasing functions.

Experience in selling other BBS supplier programs is desirable.

Strategic thinker that is ethical, leads by example and is comfortable working in a team environment.

Capacity to build rapport and engender trust among strategic partners, member companies, BIO state affiliate network, and BBS program partners.

Proven management skills with timely and strategic communications (written and oral) to BIO management, affiliates and program partners.

Superb organizational, verbal and written skills: tactful, professional and persuasive speaking manner.

Computer savvy – Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint, CRMs and other databases.

Physical Requirements

Remaining in a stationary position for extended periods (sitting at a desk, standing at a counter).

Reaching for items on shelves or in cabinets.

Moving boxes, files, or other office equipment up to 15 pounds.

Operating a computer, keyboard, mouse, and other office equipment.

Close vision for computer work and detailed tasks.

Using a mouse, keyboard, and other small office tools.

Travel Requirements Mobility/travel up to 75% within the region.

Work Environment Ability to work from a home office or shared office space.
