Territory Development Manager – Unilever Food Solutions Location: Remote – San Francisco, CA

Purpose of the Role The Territory Development Manager will drive sustainable business growth by engaging operators, chains and trade partners across the assigned territory, leveraging a multi‑touchpoint integrated digital ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and execute a proactive acquisition plan, balancing hunting (70%) and farming (30%) to grow reach and penetration.

Plan and execute sales calls using data and CRM tools, establishing yourself as a valuable partner and capturing new opportunities.

Deliver business targets such as sales growth, reach, penetration, digital engagement and customer presentations for both operators and distributor trade partners.

Manage the full key‑account management cycle, executing CBP, win & retain funnel, contact matrix and multi‑touchpoint contact strategy (20% online, 80% face‑to‑face).

Co‑create solution recommendations with clients, build and nurture relationships with local distributors and trade partners, and coordinate customer orders to ensure revenue targets.

Conduct virtual culinary consultations and in‑person cooking demos to demonstrate UFS solutions, presenting relevant selling stories that highlight revenue savings and efficiency improvements.

Provide follow‑up on previous calls and ensure opportunities progress toward close, maintaining accurate pipeline in Salesforce.

Implement promotional activities aligned with key seasons and events, and manage timely claim submissions and settlements.

Critical Skills Required

Hunter mindset with strong sales hunting (70%) and farming (30%) balance.

Advanced proficiency in contemporary technology, AI, MS Office, Power BI and Excel.

Entrepreneurial spirit and ability to create win‑win solutions for UFS and its customers.

Curiosity and continuous learning about food trends and market dynamics.

Expertise in selling premium brands with superiority selling stories and culinary solutions.

Bilingual (Spanish or Mandarin) is a plus.

Essential Experiences

CPG foodservice B2B sales experience.

Experience selling culinary/chef solutions.

Network of existing foodservice operator partners.

Experience in distributor, ingredient, broker sales or operator sales.

CRM experience (Salesforce).

Operator experience and market/geographical knowledge.

Food university background (e.g., CIA, Food & Hospitality).

Multi‑national corporate experience.

Pay and Benefits Pay range: $69,360 to $104,040. Bonus eligible and LTI eligible. Unilever employees may participate in a comprehensive benefits plan including health insurance, retirement savings, life insurance, parental leave, paid vacation and voluntary benefits.
