Position Overview
Serve as a Senior Application Developer within DHS OIS ASD Division.
Design, develop, enhance, and support Client-Server, Web-Based, Cloud-Based, and Mobile applications.
Build and implement new functionality, system enhancements, and production fixes.
Partner closely with Business Analysts, QA teams, DHS OIS leadership, and partner agencies.
Ensure applications meet security, performance, reliability, and federal IT standards.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, deploy, and enhance enterprise applications using .NET, ASP.NET, Visual C#, and SQL Server.
Build system enhancements, troubleshoot production issues, and perform root‑cause analysis.
Work with Business Analysts to understand current and future business processes and translate them into IT solutions.
Develop enhanced reporting, dashboards, and analytics capabilities.
Perform proactive application monitoring, including audit log tracking and performance analysis.
Lead and support system upgrades, patches, and enhancements.
Ensure applications are secure, defect‑free, and compliant with DHS standards.
Provide technical mentorship and guidance to application, reporting, and query developers.
Define and document coding standards, development processes, and best practices.
Coordinate development activities across teams when required.
Collaborate with QA/QC teams to maintain application quality and security.
Prepare and maintain:
Technical documentation
System and process documentation
User guides and SOPs
ER diagrams and Visio network/design diagrams
Research, evaluate, and recommend new tools, technologies, and platforms.
Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for assigned applications and technologies.
Interact daily with government stakeholders and executive‑level users.
Support integration with statewide or enterprise‑wide systems.
Demonstrate ownership, initiative, and critical thinking in resolving complex issues.
Perform other duties as assigned.
