Senior Design Engineer – Annapolis Micro Systems
Join our team of talented hardware and software professionals as we build and increase our presence in the Digital Signal Processing market space. As a key part of a growing company, you will design, manufacture, test, and support our FPGA-based computing products.
Job Description As the Senior Design Engineer, you will develop, maintain, and test high-performance FPGA computing systems. Your responsibilities include designing behavioral VHDL and Java models, building and testing interfaces between FPGAs and I/O devices, creating VHDL, Java, and C examples, and working with customers on their applications.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Develop FPGA interfaces to SRAM/DRAM, Multi‑Gigabit Transceivers, ADCs/DACs
Create example applications showcasing features of our FPGA platforms
Build digital logic cores using Java for use in our CoreFire software tool
Write and maintain documentation for interfaces and applications
Continuously improve quality and reliability of our products
Collaborate with customers to ensure successful product integration
Teach customers how to use our VHDL models framework and software
Design for the latest and future Xilinx and Altera FPGAs
Learn from and work side‑by‑side with the world’s top‑notch FPGA experts
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering
Master’s Degree preferred
Proficient in VHDL, Java, and C
Experience in VHDL and hardware design
Highly motivated, organized, resourceful, and persistent
Proven ability to work independently and think creatively to solve problems
Able to manage multiple technical responsibilities simultaneously
Knowledge of Xilinx and Altera FPGAs, EDA design tools and architectures
Experience with VME, PCIe, Blade, VPX, and uTCA systems
