CMA LPN Residency Family Medicine
Prevea Health is seeking a Community Health Professional to support Family Medicine Residency clinical care in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
Work Hours: 30 hours per week. Sign-on bonus may be available.
Job Summary This position is responsible for pre-visit planning, standard rooming responsibilities, assisting with procedures, discharge instructions, and performing administrative and clinical tasks as directed by a medical provider. The role helps patients feel at ease while collaborating with the provider throughout the visit.
What you will do
Room patients, perform and document vital signs and patient backgrounds.
Coordinate provider schedules and appointments; enter orders and prepare patient charts.
Instruct patients and families as directed within scope of licensure or certification.
Assist medical providers with in-office procedures and administer medications/immunizations.
Maintain exam rooms and equipment to meet infection control standards; ensure appropriate levels of medical supplies.
Education and Qualifications
Graduate of an approved Medical Assistant (MA) program or Practical Nursing (LPN) program.
Minimum of 160 hours of direct patient care experience as a MA/LPN through professional work or student clinical rotations.
Current clinical experience as a Medical Assistant (preferred).
Current clinical experience as a Licensed Practical Nurse (preferred).
Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of principles and skills needed for practical nurse or medical assistant to provide patient care.
Knowledge of medical equipment and instruments.
Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions.
Excellent interpersonal skills and behaviors to foster relationships.
Ability to work under stressful or emergency situations with high concentration and energy.
Ability to prioritize work and meet changing demands.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Problem-solving skills.
Proficiency with EMR systems, computer, phone, and office software.
