Mental Health Clinical Director (LMSW-C, LPC, LMSW)

position. This full‑time, director‑level role will lead the mental health team at the Perryville Arizona State Complex in Goodyear, Arizona.

Responsibilities

Coordinate, lead, and participate in educational and training activities related to mental health care for patients

Evaluate patients in a variety of settings and perform and document mental health evaluations

Facilitate patient treatment including admission/discharge from the mental health unit, housing change requests, seclusion, suicide precautions, close observation, and observation level changes

Apply DSM-V criteria in assessment and treatment planning

Coach and collaborate with site mental health clinical staff

Ensure all mental health clinicians are adequately trained

Work cooperatively with all psychiatric providers

Assist with recruiting efforts for mental health staff

Qualifications

Masters-prepared candidate with a current, unrestricted PsyD or PhD license in Arizona

Minimum of 3 years clinical experience in a mental health care setting

Minimum of 2 years experience in management and correctional healthcare preferred

Knowledge of identifying and treating mental health and co-occurring substance abuse disorders, discharge planning, principles of social work, and basic principles of individual and group behavior

Experience with suicide risk assessment and crisis de-escalation techniques

Working knowledge of psychotropic medications

Valid CPR card (AHA or American Red Cross – BLS for Healthcare)
