Multiple Myeloma Hematologist University of Utah – Huntsman Cancer Institute

Position Overview The Division of Hematology and Hematologic Malignancies at the University of Utah and the Huntsman Cancer Institute seeks a faculty member (Assistant or Associate Professor, DOQ) to join the Plasma Cell Dyscrasia Program. The successful candidate will focus on clinical trial development and patient accrual for multiple myeloma.

Key Responsibilities

Design, initiate and lead investigator‑initiated clinical trials and trials with novel therapeutic approaches.

Recruit and manage patients with multiple myeloma, smoldering myeloma, amyloidosis, and Waldenstrom macroglobulinemia.

Collaborate within the multidisciplinary clinical team (APC, pharmacists, coordinators) to sustain the program’s high clinical impact.

Supervise and mentor a talented clinical staff.

Obtain and steward intra‑ and extramural funding from federal, foundation, and pharmaceutical sources.

Minimum Qualifications

MD or DO (or equivalent) with board certification in Hematology or Oncology, or eligible for a Utah Medical License.

At least 3 years of clinical experience treating plasma cell dyscrasias.

Proven track record as principal investigator in cooperative group, investigator‑initiated, or industry‑sponsored trials.

Demonstrated success in securing research funding.

Initiative, curiosity, and experience functioning effectively in an academic environment.
