The Marketing and Community Engagement Associate plays a vital role in promoting the mission, programs, and services of NORA to the public. This position is responsible for developing and executing marketing strategies, managing digital and print communications, and fostering meaningful relationships with community stakeholders. The ideal candidate is a creative communicator with a passion for public service and community empowerment. Marketing & Communications
Assist in the development and implementation of marketing campaigns to increase awareness of agency programs and initiatives. Draft content for newsletters, press releases, social media, website, and other communication channels including audio, video. Develop internal and external branding templates (social, presentation decks, ecommunications, community engagement) and maintain brand consistency across all materials and platforms. In collaboration with senior leadership and supervisor, tailor and modify branded content for internal and external narrative sharing opportunities (presentation decks, etc.). Maintain and enhance noraworks.org including ongoing revamp of website design, ongoing minor modifications (web banners, new program pages, etc.), and routine updates with news, resolutions, and public facing content. Community Engagement
Plan and execute community outreach events, virtual and in‑person informational sessions. Build and maintain CRM for community organizations, public agencies, and partner organizations. Document and share the agency’s participation and attendance at public events, forums, and stakeholder meetings. Gather community feedback and draft insight reports to inform agency programs and policies. Digital & Social Media
Manage the agency’s social media accounts (Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook) and website content. Monitor engagement metrics and adjust strategies accordingly. Internal Collaboration
Work cross‑functionally with program managers, department teams, and leadership to align messaging. Qualifications
Required: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field. 5+ years of experience in marketing, communications, or community engagement; or 3+ years of experience in marketing, communications, or community engagement with a postgraduate degree in a related field. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency in social media platforms, digital schedulers, email marketing tools, and basic graphic design software (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite), and Microsoft Office Suite. Strong organizational and project management skills. Preferred: Experience working with or in public agencies, nonprofits, or community‑based organizations. Experience working with website development platforms (Joomla), Government CRMs (GovDelivery), Project Management tools (Trello). Bilingual or multilingual skills. Familiarity with accessibility and equity‑focused communication practices. Experience in real estate development, community development, neighborhood revitalization, or similar economic development areas of work. Core Competencies
