The Sr Employee Relations Partner provides expert advice and strategic support on employee relations to drive organizational effectiveness while proactively mitigating risk. This role collaborates with Valley’s Strategic People Partners, people leaders, leadership, and other HR areas to manage corrective actions, investigations, accommodations, position eliminations, and policy issues.
Responsibilities
Advise the creation, implementation, and interpretation of HR policies and procedures, ensuring Valley’s practices reflect the highest standards and comply with all regulatory requirements.
Conduct thorough investigations into workplace complaints, ensuring fairness, confidentiality, and compliance with bank policies and legal standards.
Partner with strategic partners and people leaders to develop and implement corrective action plans, ensuring consistency, compliance, and alignment with internal policies and employment laws.
Manage accommodation requests in compliance with ADA and other applicable regulations. Work with people leaders and associates to implement reasonable solutions that support productivity and inclusiveness.
Support the bank through position elimination processes, including planning, communication, and compliance with legal and company requirements.
Maintain oversight of our case‑management tool, monitor entries for accuracy, and analyze trends to recommend proactive strategies.
Required Skills
Proven ability to manage complex investigations and resolve sensitive employee relations matters in a regulated environment.
Outstanding interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution skills.
Demonstrated ability to influence and collaborate with senior leaders and cross‑functional teams.
Strong analytical skills and the ability to use data to drive decisions and develop solutions.
High level of integrity, discretion, and professionalism.
Required Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field with a minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in employee relations and human resources.
Preferred Experience
Master’s degree in Human Resources.
