We are seeking a highly experienced Principal Security Specialist to lead and improve our global security posture. This role is critical in safeguarding our people, assets, and intellectual property across multiple sites. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in physical security, technical countermeasures, insider risk management, and cyber investigations, combined with strong leadership skills and a strategic approach. Candidate must be able to operate independently.

Responsibilities

Physical Security Leadership: Coordinate site security operations for several sites, including access control, surveillance systems (CCTV), perimeter defenses, and emergency security response planning.

Executive Protection (EP) and International Travel Security Programs: Support and improve existing protection program. Must have experience with managing EP and travel security programs.

Technical Countermeasures: Have an understanding of technical surveillance threats and capabilities and the ability to manage, deploy and maintain advanced security solutions.

Insider Risk & Cyber Investigations: Lead and support investigations involving insider threats, material theft, and cyber incidents.

Risk-Based Security Analysis: Conduct threat assessments and vulnerability analyses, applying risk-based methodologies to prioritize security investments.

Threat Landscape Expertise: Demonstrated ability to monitor and mitigate risks specific to the semiconductor industry, including IP theft, and supply chain vulnerabilities.

Team Leadership: Experience leading teams. Manage and mentor a global security team, encouraging a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

Compliance & Governance: Ensure alignment with international security standards, regulatory requirements, and corporate policies.

Incident Response: Support multi-functional teams during security incidents, ensuring rapid containment and recovery.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree with 15+ years in security, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.

Proven track record in security, insider threat programs, and cyber investigations.

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Superb communication and stakeholder leadership skills.

Ability to lead complex projects and drive pivotal initiatives.

Familiarity with security and risk frameworks (NIST, ISO 31000, ISO 27001).

Knowledge of business continuity planning.

Ability to integrate physical and cyber security strategies into a unified program.

Demonstrated ability to lead a diverse distributed team with cultural differences.

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree or equivalent experience.

Military, law enforcement, or intelligence community experience.

Familiarity with security and risk frameworks (NIST, ISO 31000, ISO 27001).

Compensation The US base salary range that Micron Technology estimates it could pay for this full-time position is: $110,000.00 – $248,000.00 a year.

Additional Compensation and Benefits Additional compensation may include benefits, bonuses, and equity. Base salary only is disclosed; bonuses, equity, and benefits are not included.
