OPPORTUNITY
The Bahnsen Group (TBG) is seeking a Senior Tax Manager to join their growing Tax Department. The role is a full‑time, in‑office position in our Phoenix, AZ location. The TBG Tax Department was launched in 2023 and has quickly grown to serve over 300 client households. Our goal is to provide an elite experience across all our services, including a distinct, high‑touch tax experience. TBG CPAs intentionally maintain a lower‑than‑industry‑average volume of tax returns to ensure a proactive and intimate client experience. The Senior Tax Manager is expected to possess a high degree of tax competency, a desire to engage with high‑net‑worth individuals, and a strong client‑service attitude. The role provides service for existing TBG clients, and there is no expectation for business development or client acquisition responsibility. The Senior Tax Manager reports directly to the Tax Director.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide exceptional tax planning, compliance, and advisory services to high net‑worth and Family Office clients
Review and file a variety of tax returns—including but not limited to Forms 1040, 1041, 1065, and 1120‑S—ensuring accuracy and timely submission to the appropriate tax authorities
Lead client meetings to address tax‑related inquiries and provide strategic recommendations
Collaborate with advisors and internal teams to ensure comprehensive compliance with federal and state tax regulations
Assist with analyzing individual and business tax returns to identify planning opportunities, efficiencies, and potential risks
Conduct research on complex federal and state tax issues and prepare clear, well‑documented responses to client questions
Mentor, train, and support the professional development of junior tax staff members
Manage and execute department‑wide initiatives and special projects as assigned by the Tax Director
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum of 8 years experience in a public accounting firm or an RIA, serving in a Tax Manager or Senior Tax Manager position
Active CPA or JD certification required
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics, mathematics, or related fields
Exhibit a comprehensive knowledge of the tax issues facing individuals while also having knowledge of S‑corps, Trusts, Partnerships, and Non‑profits
Detail‑oriented, possess excellent time management and prioritization skills
Experience with CCH Axcess, CCH Workflow, Holistiplan (preferred)
Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
CONSIDERATION
Salary commensurate with experience
