PT Substance Use Counselor

Position Overview Substance use counselor will assist patients through medication‑assisted programs and offer techniques for handling opioid addiction. Counselor conducts group and individual sessions for crisis management and coping strategies. The counselor evaluates patients’ progress and collaborates with doctors, nurses, and therapists for comprehensive treatment.
Responsibilities
Conduct initial assessment and evaluation interviews to determine service eligibility.
Facilitate establishment and review of the initial treatment plan with each patient.
Complete bio‑psychosocial assessment.
Provide individual and group counseling services; deliver scheduled direct service hours and coordinate all services throughout treatment.
Involve families and significant others in the patient’s recovery process whenever possible.
Respond to patient grievances and complaints as needed.
Develop aftercare plans and discharge plans.
Perform other related duties as determined by the supervisor.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree with at least 1 year of individual counseling experience.
Master’s degree in Behavioral Science with at least 1 year of individual counseling experience.
Associate’s degree or high school diploma with a current certification (CAC, CADC, or CADC II) and 1 year of supervision.
Previous experience working with chemically dependent individuals is a plus.
Demonstrates a positive, non‑judgmental, accepting attitude toward patients.
Satisfactory criminal background check and drug screen.
Salary Range Hourly wage: $23.53 to $26.15.
