Hoskinson Health & Wellness Clinic
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) leads the financial strategy, planning, reporting, and operations of the clinic. In partnership with the Executive Director / CEO and clinical leadership, the CFO ensures financial health, regulatory compliance, operational efficiency, and supports strategic growth. This role is both strategic and hands‑on in a clinic environment, balancing long‑term financial planning with day‑to‑day oversight of accounting, budgeting, reimbursement, and risk management.
Finance / Grants / Compliance staff
Possibly IT / systems or contracting staff (depending on organizational structure)
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Hire, train, evaluate, and develop finance team
Assign, oversee, and approve major projects and financial tasks
Ensure cross‑departmental collaboration and adherence to financial policies
Strategic & Leadership
Develop and execute financial strategies aligned with clinic mission, growth, and risk appetite
Provide financial leadership to senior leadership team, advising on investments, new services, capital projects, and strategic initiatives
Lead annual financial planning, forecasting, scenario analyses, and long‑term financial modeling
Support board and executive reporting — prepare financial presentations, dashboards, and projections
Budgeting & Financial Planning
Lead annual operating and capital budgets; monitor variances and recommend course corrections
Perform sensitivity analyses, “what‑if” modeling, and cost‑benefit evaluations
Oversee resource allocation decisions to optimize clinical and administrative efficiency
Accounting, Reporting & Compliance
Ensure accurate, timely, and GAAP‑compliant financial statements, internal reporting, and external audits
Oversee general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, fixed assets, and journal entries
Maintain internal controls, segregation of duties, and safeguard assets
Lead compliance with healthcare financial regulations (e.g. Medicare/Medicaid, third‑party payers, grant compliance)
Oversee tax, regulatory, and reporting obligations
Revenue Cycle & Payer Management
Oversee billing, coding, claims submission, accounts receivable, collections, and denials management
Analyze payer contracts, reimbursement rates, and negotiate favorable terms
Monitor key metrics (days in accounts receivable, denial rates, cash collections, payer mix)
Cash Flow & Treasury Management
Manage working capital, liquidity, cash forecasting, and banking relationships
Oversee debt, lines of credit, lease obligations, and investment of reserves
Ensure appropriate cash reserves and contingency planning
Risk, Audit & Insurance
Lead internal and external audits; manage audit relationships and implementation of audit findings
Oversee insurance programs (liability, malpractice, property, cyber)
Identify financial risks (e.g. reimbursement changes, regulatory shifts) and propose mitigation strategies
Operational Collaboration
Partner with clinical operations, HR, IT, and compliance to align financial and operational goals
Lead financial due diligence for service expansions, acquisitions, affiliations, or capital improvements
Drive cost optimization, process improvements, and efficiencies
Ad Hoc / Special Projects
Lead financial feasibility studies, capital project ROI assessments, or new payer initiatives
Support strategic initiatives (e.g. telehealth, new service lines) with financial modeling and analysis
Education / Certifications / Licenses Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field (required)
Master’s degree (e.g. MBA, MHA) or CPA / CMA / CGMA preferred
Certification in healthcare finance (e.g. HFMA, CHFP) strongly preferred
Continuing education relevant to healthcare reimbursement, compliance, and financial management
Experience Required:
Minimum 10+ years of progressive finance experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role
Experience in a healthcare, nonprofit, hospital, or clinic environment with familiarity with reimbursement, payer contracts, regulatory compliance
Demonstrated success leading financial strategy, budgeting, and financial reporting in a complex organization
Experience managing teams, audits, and cross‑functional collaboration
Preferred / Additional:
Experience scaling organizations or managing growth/change (mergers, acquisitions, service expansion)
Experience with grant funding, philanthropy, and public/private funding sources
Hands‑on experience in revenue cycle and payer negotiations
Strong background in systems implementation (ERP, financial / billing systems)
