This Per Diem position is located in our Ambulatory Surgery Center in Rockville, MD. We are looking for candidates that have availability on both weekdays and weekends. Shifts vary between 5:45 am - 7:00 am until cases are done. Pay Range $38-46/hour We always do whatever it takes, even if it isn’t specifically our “job.” In general, the ASC RN is responsible for:
Utilize advanced assessment skills to identify patient care problems, formulate patient care plans
Perform initial preoperative assessment, develop a plan of care, and explain the subsequent phases of surgery
Provide comfort measures and psychological support to the patient and family members
Demonstrate proficiency in caring for patients who have received various types of anesthesia or conscious sedation
Administer medications by direct intravenous and other routes as directed
Provide patient education
What You'll Bring:
Active RN license
Current BLS and ACLS certification
2-3 years clinical experience in Operating/Procedure Room or PACU (preferred)
Strong technical and clinical assessment skills
Ability to access, input, and retrieve information from a computer
Ability to work independently and demonstrate good judgment
Ability to communicate accurately and concisely
