Senior Principal Engineer, Water Market Leader, Food & Beverage Overview:

Geosyntec has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Principal Water Market Leader, Food & Beverage to help grow our water and wastewater engineering practices. This individual can be based in one of our Boise, ID, Phoenix, AZ, Pittsburgh, PA, Houston, TX, or Atlanta, GA offices, or from any of our other Geosyntec based offices throughout the US.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Develop a market strategy for the water for the food and beverage sector and organize and lead staff to advance that strategy.

Support market development in other sectors and serve as project director for large and/or high‑risk projects.

Lead strategic business planning to segment and target specific industrial, commercial and municipal clients for water supply, treatment, and reuse projects focused on the food and beverage market.

Engage with project and operations staff to align Geosyntec’s full‑service delivery capabilities with market demands.

Participate in the development and implementation of the firm’s strategic plan and inter‑departmental initiatives.

Implement a personal business development plan to expand services and revenue with new and existing clients.

Serve as Client Account Manager on selected critical accounts.

Participate in professional societies, conferences, and meetings to increase firm visibility.

Direct projects, ensuring client expectations, budgets, quality, and follow‑on work are met.

Recruit, manage, and mentor junior staff and mid‑career engineers and scientists.

Review and lead the preparation of major proposals.

Prepare for and participate in meetings with clients, regulatory personnel, and other parties.

Perform fieldwork including contractor oversight and process troubleshooting when required.

Drive personal and rental vehicles to client or company project sites as needed.

Education and Licensure

Bachelor’s degree in civil, chemical, or environmental engineering (required).

Advanced degree in the same discipline (preferred).

Professional registration (e.g., P.E.) (required).

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

At least 15 years of progressive consulting experience (20+ years preferred).

Experience with industrial and municipal water supply, treatment, and reuse projects.

Working knowledge of federal and state regulations.

Experience managing multi‑disciplinary project teams.

Success in developing and managing client relationships and growing a practice.

Excellent leadership and detail‑orientation skills.

Ability to handle multiple assignments, meet deadlines, and travel for client work.

Strong oral and technical writing skills.

Regular field work and overnight travel.

Current OSHA 40‑hr HAZWOPER training and refreshers (preferred).

Health & safety training, medical monitoring, and client‑driven drug and background testing may be required.

Valid U.S. driver’s license and satisfactory driving record (required).
