The position of Executive Director exists primarily to ensure achievement of the Mission of the Catholic Pro Life Community (CPLC). All employees and volunteers of the CPLC are to exercise faithful stewardship of thetime, talent, and resources at their disposal and those of their co-workers in achieving the results that will bemost worthy of the prayers, sacrifices, and generosity of our supporters.

Position Overview Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director of the organization and simultaneously the Respect Life Director for the Diocese of Dallas, is the keeper of the culture of the Catholic Pro-Life Community. The Executive Director provides direction and leadership to the organization; is chiefly responsible for achieving the mission and financial obligations in complete compliance with Church and civil requirements; ensures the quality, timely, accurate, and professional presentation of all materials and reports; assists the Board in fulfilling its role as an ex-officio member; and is the senior representative to the public.

Key Responsibilities

Ensures the organization and its mission, programs, services, and materials consistently present a clear, persuasive, effective, and positive pro-life solution for North Texas

Manages the Directors of the CPLC Ministries, Communications, Development, and Operations Departments to achieve the mission of the organization

Ensures a positive culture within the CPLC including the staff, volunteers, donors, and supporters in conformity with ecclesial and civil regulations

Oversees the solicitation and stewardship of donors and fundraising communications, campaigns, and events in collaboration with the Director of Development

Oversees the design, marketing, promotion, and delivery of communication materials in collaboration with the Director of Marketing/Communications

Oversees the design, delivery, and quality of programs and services in collaboration with the Ministry Directors

Keeps abreast of legislative, scientific, medical, cultural, and Church developments that bear on the CPLC’s pro-life mission

Represents the organization’s mission, programs, and achievements to supporters, volunteers, media, organizations, businesses, and other groups as appropriate

Represents the organization to and liaises with local, state, national, and international Church and pro-life groups in good standing

Liaises with the Bishop for guidance and cooperation with issues and events requiring his attention

Determines and manages the prioritization of ministry and community efforts within the defined CPLC mission with Board approval

Recommends the annual budget for Board approval, in collaboration with the Director of Operations, and prudently manages the organization’s resources within those guidelines

Supports the Board’s effective execution of its role through timely and effective communication of issues affecting operations, objectives, public relations, staff, and volunteers

Qualifications

Ability and desire to support the mission of the Catholic Pro-Life Community and the Church

Ability to motivate staff, donors, and media toward the organization’s goals

Strong communication skills in verbal, social, and video mediums

Demonstrated ability to manage multiple, concurrent departments with competing needs

Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain priorities across a diverse set of constituencies

Demonstrated ability to lead and recruit high-quality employees or volunteers

Demonstrated ability to manage spending against annual budget goals

Demonstrated ability to connect with the community and encourage volunteer and donor support

Ability to establish and nurture relationships with staff, volunteers, donors, and clergy

Acceptance of the magisterial teachings of the Catholic Church with a detailed understanding of life issues

Catholic in active and good standing membership within a parish

Ability to review financial reports and justify expenses aligning with the Board-approved budget

Ability to oversee employee compliance with policies and procedures

Ability to generate reports in a timely manner

Other Skills & Experience

College degree, preferably in business administration or equivalent experience

Excellent management skills and attention to detail

Sensitivity to diverse attitudes across the spectrum of life issues

Understanding of and compliance with the Diocese’s Safe Environment Program

Ability to manage a hybrid or work-from-home organizational structure

Facility with electronic research tools and modern communication platforms

Stewardship and Community Engagement All employees of CPLC are called to exercise faithful stewardship of the time, talents, and resources. This commitment is reflected in the spirit of collaboration, excellence, and fidelity to the Catholic Church’s teachings on life and human dignity and demonstrated through active participation in a parish or faith community in good standing with the Church and compliance with the Diocese’s Safe Environment Program.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Collaborate with the Parish Engagement Team to build strong, supportive relationships with parish middle and high school youth ministers, Catholic school educators, diocesan leaders, and young adult coordinators.

Research, understand, and assess the unique needs and interests of parish and school communities to identify effective ways to engage them in life-affirming formation.

Design and implement interactive and age-appropriate “Culture of Life” content for middle school, high school, and young adult audiences—empowering them to speak up for the dignity of human life.

Organize small group gatherings and educational events featuring local speakers and community leaders to deepen understanding and build community among young adults.

Seek out and create opportunities for presentations, workshops, and events that equip youth to embrace their role as pro-life leaders within their parish and broader culture.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

Deep commitment to the Church’s teaching on the dignity of human life, with a desire to inspire youth and young adults in parishes and schools to embrace a consistent ethic of life from conception to natural death.

Willingness to learn and work closely with team members, parish staff, youth ministers, and young adult leaders. Strong relationship-building skills and reliable follow-through with volunteers and ministry partners.

Ability to assess needs and develop engaging Culture of Life programs for middle school, high school, and young adult audiences, especially in small group or parish settings.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Comfortable engaging with a variety of stakeholders—including clergy, educators, and ministry leaders—across in-person and virtual platforms.

Bachelor’s degree in Theology, Catechesis, or related field. 2–3 years’ experience (paid or volunteer) in youth or young adult ministry. Familiarity with NET or FOCUS is a plus. Strong organizational skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
