Associate or Senior Associate – Data Analytics – Washington, D.C. CrossBoundary Advisory is recruiting a full-time Associate or Senior Associate to join our team in Washington, DC. The role works directly with a leading development finance institution (DFI) and focuses on analyzing historical and current pipeline transactions, developing annual target frameworks, and creating data governance frameworks to support data integrity across systems.

Primary Responsibilities

Annual Target-Setting and Reporting Automation

Define and track internal planning targets and key performance metrics, including establishing robust KPIs for accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of data entry.

Prepare and distribute data insights for leadership, creating and deploying automation tools for standard reporting and analytics.

Data Architecture Development & Data Governance

Develop and implement a Data Governance Framework to ensure regulatory compliance and a single source of truth in line with data privacy requirements.

Support design and implementation of modern enterprise data architecture, integrating data sources and data collection across systems.

Build and maintain a database of historical and current pipeline transactions.

Assist with the integration of data and automation tools into the investment processes to improve efficiency.

Monitor and improve data quality, building a comprehensive data inventory and authoritative data dictionaries.

Create and conduct annual data maturity assessments to benchmark and evaluate progress.

Data Culture & Training

Develop and deliver a comprehensive data literacy program to empower other members of the organization.

Promote data as a strategic asset through success stories, case studies, and innovative incentives.

Cultivate a culture of collaboration and knowledge-sharing by promoting best practices on data usage and sharing to support data-driven decision-making.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (economics, mathematics, finance, business, or a related quantitative field).

At least 3 years of relevant experience in a data management or strategic data analytics role within finance, consulting, impact investing, international development, or emerging market finance.

Proficiency in data science and analytics tools, including advanced Excel, Tableau, and database querying.

Experience designing, implementing, or managing data architecture and data governance frameworks.

Understanding of financial performance and impact measurement.

Experience with strategic planning, project management, and target/KPI setting.

Ability to build strong relationships with senior management.

Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a clear and direct style.

Excellent PowerPoint presentation skills.

Fluency in spoken and written English.

Prior experience working with institutional clients such as government entities or relevant private sector entities.
