Senior RACF Mainframe Engineer

RESPONSIBILITIES
Kforce has a large enterprise, healthcare client seeking a senior-level RACF Mainframe Engineer. This role is fully remote and candidates can sit anywhere nationwide.
Overview This Senior RACF Mainframe Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining RACF security solutions in a complex z/OS environment. This role requires deep RACF expertise, strong programming skills, and the ability to operate independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities
Architect and manage RACF security for z/OS systems
Provide Level 2 support and troubleshoot RACF-related issues
Develop automation (REXX, JCL, SAS) to streamline operations
Integrate RACF with DB2, CICS, IMS; ensure compliance (SOX, HIPAA, PCI)
Support audits, reporting, and incident response
REQUIREMENTS
High School diploma or a GED
10 years of experience in mainframe environments with expert RACF knowledge
Strong skills in SAS, REXX, JCL, IBM utilities
Experience with compliance frameworks and subsystem integration
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
Familiarity with TPX, digital certificates, and healthcare industry is preferred
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
