Job Overview The Materials Manager exists to ensure that material moves accurately, visibly, and on time from receiving through processing to shipping. This role owns material flow discipline and prevents lost work, delays, mis-shipments, and downstream chaos.
Key Responsibilities Receiving & Identification
Oversee receiving of all inbound material
Ensure correct routers are attached to the correct skids
Verify quantities, part numbers, and customer information
Flag discrepancies or damage immediately
Location Control & Scanning
Ensure all skids are placed in the correct physical locations and scanned accurately into their assigned locations
Maintain real-time visibility of where work is located
Internal Transfers
Coordinate timely movement of jobs to the processing facility
Ensure work is transferred based on schedule and priority
Prevent work from sitting idle due to missed handoffs
Shipping & Documentation
Ensure packing slips are accurate and complete
Verify quantities, part numbers, and customer requirements before shipment to prevent short shipments or documentation errors
Logistics & Truck Scheduling
Schedule trucks and freight pickups when required
Coordinate with carriers and internal teams
Customer Communication
Communicate with customers regarding order completion and readiness to ship
Provide clear, accurate status updates related to shipping and material readiness
Qualifications
3-5 Years in Shipping and Receiving or Materials Management
College Degree Preferred
Experience with use of an ERP System
Supervisory Experience in the manufacturing industry
Salary $75,000 - $90,000 per year
