We are currently seeking a Security Monitor II, Community Corrections who has a passion for providing the highest quality care in a residential setting. Responsibilities
Supervise the facility population, including safety, security, and facility sanitation.
Provide care, custody, and control of residents and establish a safe environment for the facility.
Mentor, develop and train team members.
Monitor staff activities, provide instruction, and apply standards and procedures.
Ensure daily head counts are conducted and logged; conduct all accountability calls within required time‑frame.
Conduct drug and alcohol testing as needed or directed.
Perform rescue functions during accidents, emergencies and disasters (basic emergency medical aid, CPR, evacuation).
Distribute food plates during late meal service.
Qualifications
High School diploma, GED certification or equivalent is required.
One year of work experience, including six months in a security related field, is required.
Experience in Correctional Management is preferred.
Supervisory experience is preferred.
California Adult Corrections Officer Core Course certification is required.
Ability to communicate clearly verbally and in writing and apply problem solving techniques to complex issues.
Must complete pre‑service and other training programs as required.
Must be available to work any hours, any shift.
Minimum age requirement: at least 18 years of age.
Certificates/Security Clearances/Other: City – San Diego; State – California.
