The Role Zeta’s Athena vision represents a shift toward AI-orchestrated, modular enterprise applications running natively within AthenaOS. To unlock the full potential of this AI-powered ecosystem, we are building a next-generation developer platform and SDK that enable developers – and increasingly AI agents – to build applications rapidly and safely. We are seeking a Director of Product Management to lead the AthenaOS Developer Platform, including the SDK, developer tooling, capability fabric, and the broader ecosystem that supports internal teams, partners, integrators, and future AI-driven builders.
What You Will Lead
Developer Platform & SDK Strategy Define and drive the vision for a world-class developer experience, including the AthenaOS application SDK, CLI, scaffolding, templates, developer workflows, local development tools, testing frameworks, telemetry, debugging, versioning, deployment, and change-management systems.
API & Modular Capability Fabric Own the foundational API and capability model that powers all applications and agents: core data and identity capabilities, intelligence and inference primitives, activation, workflows, orchestration capabilities, cross-application integration patterns, and secure application-level contracts.
Developer Ecosystem & Community Leadership Build and scale the ecosystem around AthenaOS by providing documentation and developer learning hubs, example apps, templates, reference architectures, partner and integrator enablement, developer certification programs, hackathons, builder events, and community engagement.
AI-Augmented Development & Model Context Protocol Integration Partner with Athena AI teams to define how large language models read, reason, generate code, operate safely within tooling, and validate app behavior through structured contexts, establishing the Model Context Protocol layers that allow AI to build and modify applications directly.
Developer Governance & Reliability Standards Implement standards ensuring consistency and integrity across the ecosystem: API versioning, SDK release cadence, security and privacy boundaries, observability, performance, reliability guarantees, and tooling for debugging, monitoring, and issue resolution.
Cross-Functional Leadership Collaborate closely with engineering, design systems, AI research, platform architecture, and security leaders to build a cohesive developer platform empowering both human developers and AI agents.
What You Bring
10+ years of Product Management with deep experience in developer tools, SDKs, APIs, or ecosystem platforms.
Strong technical grounding with modern frameworks, cloud-native development, and secure software architecture.
Experience driving adoption and growth of developer ecosystems.
Passion for simplifying complex systems for developers.
Understanding of AI-assisted or agentic development workflows.
Exceptional cross-functional leadership and communication skills.

Salary Range The salary range for this role is $190,000 – $210,000, depending on location and experience.
