Sr. Coord, Consultant Family Child Care – Puget Sound Educational Service District Purpose Statement:

Provide leadership, technical assistance, and partnerships to enhance regional early learning systems, ensure equitable education opportunities, and sustain child development and academic outcomes.

Essential Functions

Co‑lead development and implementation of regional early learning systems with a focus on school readiness to eliminate opportunity gaps and enrich family and community engagement.

Compile data from a wide variety of sources to guide program development, establish differentiated site support, and coordinate regional activities that meet the needs of children, families, and providers.

Coordinate regional program services in designated content areas (e.g., education, family support, health and nutrition, disabilities, ERSEA) to ensure fidelity and quality of implementation based on the whole child approach and in compliance with federal, state, and agency regulations.

Facilitate or participate in meetings, workshops, and seminars (e.g., training, orientations, regional committees, conferences) to convey or gather information, provide technical expertise, maintain relationships, and/or support agency and program operations.

Maintain a variety of manual and electronic documents, files, and records to provide up‑to‑date reference for compliance with ESD, state and federal regulations, and grant requirements.

Participate in monitoring activities (e.g., visiting sites, conducting observations, writing reports) to ensure compliance with federal and/or state regulations, requirements, and Puget Sound ESD policies and procedures.

Provide ongoing support and resources to regional early learning providers to recommend policies, procedures, actions, and/or materials, disseminate information, and provide or organize technical assistance and professional development.

Research a wide variety of topics (e.g., funding options, best practices, grant requirements) to secure new funding and/or provide information and recommendations for program implementation.

Respond to a wide variety of inquiries from others (e.g., subcontractors, school districts, professional organizations) to strengthen regional early learning systems, improve capacity of educational leadership, and guide regional professional development.

Supervise personnel by providing coaching and consultation on technical issues, adaptive challenges, personnel matters, strategic opportunities, career goals, professional development, job performance, etc., to advance the development of effective leaders and high‑performing teams and achieve agency and departmental objectives.

Other Functions

Assist other personnel as may be required to ensure an efficient and effective work environment.

PLANNING, ORGANIZATION, AND PRIORITIZATION : Assess the work to be performed and consider how it should be organized and accomplished, with appropriate priorities and realistic time parameters.

RECORDKEEPING AND DOCUMENTATION : Gather, organize, and maintain records, following confidential information and security protocols as needed. Accurately document relevant/essential actions, processes, and practices.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Childhood Development or Early Childhood Education (ECE), or a related field (Elementary Education, Special Education, Human Development, Child and Family Studies) and 45 ECE college credits.

Professional experience mentoring, coaching, and/or providing technical assistance to early learning staff.

Experience providing group or staff training and/or teaching adult learners.

Head Start, Early Head Start, ECEAP, or other state‑funded preschool experience.

Professional experience in teaching and caring for infants, toddlers, and/or preschool children in a family childcare home.

Knowledge of Head Start performance standards and/or childcare licensing Washington Administrative Codes (WACs).
