Base pay range $105,000.00/yr - $120,000.00/yr
The role – duties & responsibilities Reporting to the Tax Director and as part of our US tax team based in NJ, the successful candidate will play a leading role in liaising with and advising to clients on all tax matters. The Senior Manager of Tax is responsible for assisting the Tax Director in leading the client service delivery for our tax service offering, prospecting and participating in business development, attracting, retaining and building a high performing team and facilitating the continued growth of the firm. Responsibilities include providing exceptional customer service, tax compliance services, tax planning services, fund formation consulting and assist with building out the tax service offering. You will have support and on the job training from the Tax Director and other staff. You will be expected to develop an understanding of the practical issues involved in delivering a high quality service to our clients. Our welcoming team environment and collaboration with colleagues will mean that you will develop your skills quickly and will get to work with the same types of clients as the Big 4.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree, preferably with an emphasis in accounting, tax, or equivalent experience.
Master’s in taxation and/or CPA a plus
Experience
Approximately 7+ years of relevant tax experience or the equivalent experience in business or industry.
Tax experience in a public accounting setting, particularly Big 4, a plus
Knowledge
Analytical, technical, and tax accounting/technology skills with proficiency in US GAAP, tax compliance, and partnership returns
Accounting and tax expertise (Partnerships, LLC’s, and K-1’s)
Should be comfortable with U.S. partnership concepts and general U.S. tax rules (calculating gains, understanding accounting methods, knowing book‑tax differences, etc.)
Experience with broader partner issues such as domestic and foreign taxes, foreign tax credits, and financial planning, etc.
Strong accounting skills (not just U.S. tax knowledge) is highly preferred
International tax experience a plus; Comfortable managing the conversion of books on a foreign accounting basis to U.S. tax basis
Experienced with Forms 8865, 5471, 8858, and 8621
Real estate experience is a plus
Knowledge of corporate taxation and accounting for income taxes a plus
Broad exposure to state, local and federal income taxation as well as worldwide tax issues.
Skills and Abilities
Proficient knowledge of automated tax processing systems and Microsoft Office tools, including hands‑on experience with advance Excel features, Thomson Reuters GoSystems, CCH Axcess Prosytems and tax research applications.
Excellent leadership, communication and organizational skills
