To be on-site at the aircraft manufacture/commodities supplier production facilities to conduct inspections of new aircraft, equipment or product build to ensure highest possible standards and that no discrepancies in quality, functionality or specifications go undetected. Monitor program, engineering and project status, and report progress to the management.
Responsibilities
Conduct physical inspection of aircraft, equipment or product technical records, major assemblies, build, functionality and quality in accordance with the relevant guidelines, manuals, procedures and specifications
Notify the manufacturer/suppliers of defects and discrepancies that are identified during inspection and agree suitable corrective action to restore the aircraft, equipment or product to the required standard. Record discrepancy as necessary and report to line manager any issues that requires further management attention
Advise line manager of any delinquent corrective action plans to be escalated with manufacturer/supplier at senior level as and when required
Ensure adequate coverage for appropriate corrective actions through aircraft manufacturers/suppliers? Commitment Letter for design, quality or engineering solutions
Participate and engage in regular production, status review and other on-site meetings to gather relevant information and highlight issues including timelines as necessary
Specific to Aircraft Production Inspector at Boeing/Airbus
Carry out Final Cabin and other relevant delivery related inspections as directed by delivery program requirements
Carry-out pre-delivery checks, and if holding the relevant AME licence, provide CRS certification prior to Ferry Flight from the manufacturers facility as required
Review and monitor all relevant documentation applicable to the Aircraft for delivery, including but not limited to: Airworthiness Directives, Concessions, test reports, technical logbook, flight test reports etc. In doing so, bring to the attention of the Manager Airbus/Boeing Acceptance, any issues that may be relevant for delivery of the aircraft or may affect the aircraft while in-service
Specific to Cabin Production Inspector
Carry out FAI and Source Inspections of shipset equipment at on-site facilities to support the program schedules
As required, travel to different supplier facilities and remain stationed to monitor program, engineering and production progress and inspect quality, functionality and specifications of the product prior to shipment
Report program status, supplier resource availability, engineering and production capacity and project timelines to line manager as directed
Qualifications
Degree in Aviation (preferably) or Apprenticeship or Degree in Aeronautical/Mechanical/Avionics/Electronic Technology Engineering
Preferably holding an EASA/FAA/GCAA aircraft licence, preferably with current Airbus or Boeing
Widebody Aircraft Type Ratings in B1 or B2 Categories with Company approval for CRS certification
Experience in aircraft engineering preferably 5 years (Engineering Projects) in Aircraft
Structural/System/Engines, Cabin, Avionics and IFE systems and components on the relevant Airbus and Boeing aircraft
Experience as Aircraft/Support Engineer. Aircraft Maintenance/Cabin maintenance/quality inspector experience. Preferably 2 years experience in engineering projects/aircraft acceptance
Knowledge / Skills
Have knowledge and experience of carrying out aircraft structural/system/Engines, Cabin, Avionics or IFE systems and components on the relevant Airbus and Boeing Aircrafts
Deep understanding of aircraft systems or cabin interior commodities/products, quality and functionality
