Base Pay Range
$120,000.00/yr - $160,000.00/yr
Location Dallas, Texas (Hybrid). Travel to U.S. project sites ~5-10%.

About the Role We are seeking a Design Engineering Manager to lead the design and integration of Building Automation Systems (BAS/BMS) for large‑scale data center projects. This role focuses on delivering resilient, efficient, and scalable automation solutions, leveraging AutoCAD, Visio, and PLC‑based control systems. You will manage design standards, sequences of operation, and integration strategies across multidisciplinary teams.
Key Responsibilities Technical Leadership
Develop BAS/BMS architecture for Tier III/IV data centers.
Create and review Sequences of Operation for HVAC and critical cooling systems.
Design and validate PLC‑based control strategies for mechanical and electrical systems.
Produce detailed drawings and schematics using
AutoCAD
and
Visio .
Ensure robust integration with EPMS, DCIM, and other facility systems.
Design Delivery
Prepare and review control narratives, I/O lists, and network diagrams.
Oversee design documentation and ensure compliance with U.S. codes and standards (ASHRAE, NFPA, UL).
Coordinate with mechanical, electrical, and IT teams for seamless system integration.
Testing & Commissioning
Define FAT/SAT/IST plans for PLC‑based systems.
Lead QA/QC for control panels, programming, and graphics.
Validate system performance and redundancy during commissioning.
Project & Team Management
Manage a team of design engineers and oversee vendor performance.
Control schedules, budgets, and technical risk for automation workstreams.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's in Electrical, Mechanical, or Controls Engineering.
8+ years in BAS/BMS design; 4+ years in data center projects.
Proficiency in
AutoCAD ,
Visio , and PLC programming (Allen‑Bradley, Siemens, or similar).
Strong knowledge of protocols (BACnet, Modbus, OPC) and integration strategies.
Familiarity with commissioning processes (FAT/SAT/IST).
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with advanced PLC logic for critical cooling and power systems.
Knowledge of cybersecurity for OT networks.
Professional certifications (PE, PMP, or similar).
