team in

Job Description As a team leader, you will collaborate with stakeholders to build world-class capabilities for clients, recommend strategies to VPs and AVPs, manage and motivate a small team, provide mentorship, and direct client accounts to identify and close risk gaps. You will also support business growth, engage in industry organizations, and contribute to digital communications.
Essential Responsibilities
Collaborate with team on strategies to build world-class capabilities for clients and recommend strategies to VPs and AVPs of Risk & Safety.
Lead, manage, and motivate a small team of Risk & Safety Specialists, Consultants, or Sr. Consultants, focusing on strategy implementation and day-to-day team management.
Provide direct mentorship, technical guidance, and direction to assigned team.
Make tactical decisions within projects and contribute to strategic discussions with less focus on companywide policies.
Assign new accounts to team members in collaboration with VPs and AVPs.
Continuously review current processes with the team to create an environment emphasizing continual improvement.
Encourage knowledge sharing among the team on markets, products, legislative issues, best practices, etc.
Coordinate initial and ongoing training with PC Growth & Development and Risk & Safety team members on established processes and procedures.
Manage client accounts/files with the same expertise and skill set as consultants.
Serve current clients by identifying areas for improvement in their risk management programs and providing solutions to close noted gaps, including all insurable risks, regulatory compliance, and loss-sensitive and captive risk management programs.
Provide analysis, consultation, oversight, and direction of large and complex clients’ risk management programs and processes, assisting clients in enhancing safety performance and culture.
Provide on-site and remote client services such as training seminars, on-site hazard assessments, strategy development, crisis management procedures, loss trend analysis, policy/procedure development, goal setting, and monitoring of program success and future initiatives.
Help grow Holmes Murphy’s business by participating in prospective client meetings and assessments to understand each prospect’s unique needs and proposing service ideas.
Work with carrier loss control and underwriting personnel to provide the greatest value to our shared clients.
Provide guidance and input for company blogs, newsletters, videos, and other digital communications, remaining active in local and national risk/safety organizations and presenting at educational conferences.
Mentor Risk & Safety Specialists and Consultants as part of established learning paths.
Maintain knowledge of insurance industry trends and changing requirements in the industry and communicate to clients and internal team members.
Management Responsibilities
Lead and motivate the team by ensuring the right talent is in the right role, hiring and terminating employees as needed.
Coach and counsel team members on workflow, process and procedure, customer service, and client consulting.
Prepare and conduct performance feedback that defines future goals and objectives and holds employees accountable.
Foster a high-performance culture by supporting career development and advancement.
Manage timesheet processes, including responding to PTO/RTO requests and approving timesheets.
Participate in compensation decisions for team members, as applicable.
Facilitate regularly scheduled meetings to foster teamwork.
Attend team and enterprise meetings, and leadership training opportunities offered internally and externally.
Coordinate initial and ongoing training with Growth & Development and team members on established processes and procedures.
Support and maintain standardized processes to ensure efficient and effective quality service according to established quality guidelines.
Provide backup assistance for team members as necessary.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in safety program or equivalent education and/or experience. Advanced degree preferred.
Experience: 7+ years of experience providing risk and safety services to large complex businesses preferred. Experience leading others preferred, but not required.
Licensing: Industry-related designations or certifications such as ASP, CSP, CHST, OHST, ARM, and CFPS preferred. Ability to acquire license within three months of hire.
Technical Competencies: Utilize compliance knowledge to conduct assessments and evaluate potential risks in operations; efficiently identify problems, determine root causes, and implement effective solutions or improvements.

The salary range for Minnesota residents is
