Additional Job Description West Virginia University School of Medicine and the Department of Medicine are seeking a full‑time hepatologist (assistant, associate, or professor) to join a growing academic program. The ideal candidate should be board‑certified or board‑eligible in transplant hepatology and gastroenterology and will practice in Morgantown, WV.
Duties
Clinical duties: outpatient hepatology clinic, general endoscopy, and attendance on the inpatient gastroenterology/hepatology consult service (approximately 1:8).
With sufficient growth of the hepatology section, the division plans to create a separate hepatology inpatient consult service.
Provide excellent patient care and be actively involved in teaching medical students, residents, and fellows (the gastroenterology fellowship currently comprises 12 fellows, 4 per year).
Qualifications
MD, DO, or foreign equivalent; eligible for state medical license.
Completed an accredited internal medicine residency program, gastroenterology fellowship, and transplant hepatology fellowship.
Board‑eligible or board‑certified in gastroenterology and transplant hepatology; all qualifications must be met by the time of appointment.
Additional Information Our GI and Hepatology service line offers a complete range of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, treats a medically diverse population, and provides exposure to clinically challenging cases. A new and expanding endoscopy center features state‑of‑the‑art suites for advanced procedures and ERCPs, with close access to adjacent specialty clinics. The team includes 11 gastroenterology physicians (including 3 hepatologists) and 5 APPs, including one full‑time hepatology nurse practitioner.
