Head of Product Development and Innovation
Ategrity Specialty Insurance Company is seeking a senior leader with strong product development and innovation experience in Commercial Property & Casualty lines.
Salary Base pay: $225,000.00 – $250,000.00 per year. Additional compensation: annual bonus.
Role Overview The Head of Product Development and Innovation will design and execute the company’s product development and product management strategy, working closely with IT, Actuarial, Claims, and Underwriting teams to achieve business objectives. The role serves as the firm’s subject‑matter expert across all policy forms, endorsements, and contract language, and owns the enterprise forms library and end‑to‑end forms change function.
Responsibilities
Partner with underwriters to review policy and contract wording, draft manuscript endorsements, and ensure underwriting intent is reflected in clear, unambiguous language.
Advise on claims coverage issues, pricing considerations, and underwriting best practices.
Lead initiatives to modify, enhance, and innovate product forms in response to evolving exposures and market needs.
Drive continuous improvement and innovation across product wording and form architecture, identifying opportunities to modernize coverage and improve usability.
Collaborate with IT to test, validate, and implement form builds and changes, ensuring accuracy, scalability, and disciplined change management.
Oversee product development project management and timelines, ensuring organized execution of agreed product development accountabilities.
Maintain and execute a quality assurance process to ensure that policy and endorsement wording matches underwriting intent.
Drive coverage certainty by establishing and ensuring adherence to policy wording guidelines and review processes.
Review and approve XS terms that are based on other insurers’ standard policy forms.
Advise on adjustments to terms and pricing for complex accounts and referrals.
Draft manuscript policies and endorsements as required to address client‑specific exposures.
Provide and create training opportunities for underwriting staff to improve understanding of policy and endorsement wording.
Innovation and Change Management
Participate in and lead continuous improvement and learning efforts, including deep‑dive analytics, process improvement, and change management.
Provide guidance and strategic insight on the development and issuance of insurance products by monitoring industry trends, regulatory developments, and emerging innovations.
Disseminate learning via underwriting bulletins and training to inform underwriters about exposure trends related to policy and endorsement wording.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree, Juris Doctor, or CPCU (plus)
5–8 years of insurance experience in product development, claims, or underwriting in Commercial Property and Casualty lines.
Strong knowledge of product development processes and overall product knowledge in relevant insurance lines.
