Remote candidates welcome. Primary location: Alexandria, VA. Responsibilities

Act as the voice of the customer to prioritize product backlog epics, features, and stories for Workday HCM (or equivalent HCM systems) focusing on Core HR functions, Recruiting, Learning, Talent Management, Benefits, Payroll, and Employee Time and Expense modules. Partner with the business analysts to draft concise epics, features, stories and ensure all required metadata is captured to enable an accurate product roadmap and reporting. Ensure the operational integrity and compliance of Payroll and Time Tracking processes, translating complex legislative and regulatory changes into actionable backlog items for the squad. Draft well defined user stories and work with the engineering team to create acceptance criteria, definitions of done and failures. Manage the technical integrity and interoperability of the HCM platform within the enterprise ecosystem, owning and prioritizing technical stories necessary for seamless and secure data exchange with the Oracle Financial Cloud, Enterprise Performance Planning platforms, external payroll and benefits vendors, and OKTA user provisioning. Actively participate in delivery squad ceremonies (Sprint Planning, Daily Stand‑ups, Sprint Review, Sprint Retrospective) and portfolio‑level events (quarterly planning, enterprise‑level retrospective and innovation ceremonies, system demos). Work with the Portfolio Leader and HR and Finance stakeholders to measure and track the value delivered to the customers, focusing on user adoption and operational efficiencies. Contribute to the portfolio‑level product roadmap by drafting “Ideas” in the lean business case format in the Jira Product Discovery board for roadmap consideration based on customer insights. Partner with the Portfolio Leader, Finance product owners, business stakeholders, and squad to prepare for the quarterly planning events as well as enterprise‑level retrospective ceremonies. Define, validate and support user acceptance testing, particularly for new Workday release and Oracle HCM updates. Participate in release planning, coordinating with relevant teams, including HR and Finance functional teams to ensure successful product launches and iterations. Required Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of experience as a Product Owner, Functional Consultant, or Business Analyst supporting Workday HCM or Oracle Cloud HCM. 5 years of hands‑on experience in Workday HCM, Oracle HCM, or a comparable tier‑one HCM commercial‑off‑the‑shelf platform, including system configuration, implementation, and support, with proven knowledge of payroll and time and expense. Experience in Agile ways of working, SAFe, Scrum, Disciplined Agile Delivery (DAD), project management, and process improvement. Strong ability to articulate concepts, plans and facilitate working sessions with cross functional teams. 5+ years of experience working with cross functional global teams. Hands‑on experience with product management tools such as Jira, Jira Product Discovery, Confluence and other similar platforms. Preferred Education and Experience

Experience ensuring data compliance and security standards, especially concerning sensitive HR and PHI data. Experience with SaaS, PaaS, mobile apps, back‑office systems, hardware, and services and various product categories a plus. Experience building custom reports and integrations and supporting the growth and development of data analytics tools. Strong facilitation, communication and presentation skills. Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver value in complex environments. General knowledge of privacy compliance. Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and technical understanding. Passion for creating best‑in‑class products and experiences, driving proven customer value. Ability to lead without direct authority and influence stakeholders to align on the product vision and objectives. Ability to synthesize business needs and communicate requirements effectively across technical and non‑technical audiences. Ability to think critically and solve multifaceted challenges/opportunities, analyze and solve complex problems. Understand business goals, market trends, and customer needs. Excellent time management and prioritization skills. Strong interpersonal and customer service skills. ADA/Physical Requirements

Must lift up to 30 lbs. Extended periods seated or standing at a desk. High use of computer and other office technology equipment. Travel
