Salary Range

$20.00 - $26.00/hour depending on experience

General Summary The Business Banker is responsible for performing intermediate duties and support related to branch operational activities and financial services; processes all new account transactions; assists customers in their selection of various accounts and financial services; cross‑selling the Bank's products and services; opening, maintaining and closing all account types; performing branch clerical duties; promoting business for the Bank by maintaining good customer relations and referring customers to appropriate staff for new services. The position is also required to be fully knowledgeable and skilled in the areas of new account desk, teller, and safe deposit.

Essential Duties And Job Responsibilities

Provides support to all assigned areas of branch operations where service or assistance is needed, including platform area, teller line, and safe deposit.

Assists consumer and business customers in their selection of various accounts, products and financial services available from the Bank; ensures cross‑sell opportunities are presented by applying professional sales techniques.

Interviews customers to obtain information; establishes proper identification of new customers; determines need and extent of reference investigation.

Assists management with business calls and budget goals.

Prepares for audits.

Performs regular daily, weekly and monthly customer service duties.

Handles large sums of cash accurately and efficiently; maintains cash limits.

Achieves and maintains customer satisfaction through excellence in service delivery, follow‑up and problem resolution.

Alternates opening and closing the branch with management.

Mentors and trains new Business Bankers.

Assists teller staff when needed, including finding differences.

Maintains a working knowledge of the complete line of products and services offered; takes responsibility to keep up‑to‑date and request assistance for further development needs.

Performs all other duties assigned by management.

Education, Certification, Experience

Education – Required: High School Diploma or GED; Preferred: Associate’s Degree.

Experience – Required: 2 years banking experience and 1 year sales experience; Preferred: 3 years banking experience and 2 years sales experience.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

Required – Ability to maintain a positive and professional attitude at all times; accurately count currency; friendly and outgoing personality; good customer service skills; good decision‑making skills; ability to make quick informed decisions and seek assistance when needed; team player; work well with co‑workers and management; ability to work with minimal supervision; high level of confidentiality; access to customers' financial information, accounts, security and closing procedures; high internal and external contact.

Preferred – Organization, ability to work at a fast pace and perform multi‑tasks; knowledge of bank policies and procedures for teller line and customer service; good judgment; ability to handle change, stress and pressures of daily activity when multi‑tasking.

Work Environment Position is performed in a branch setting with some external business conduct. Equipment: network system, computer (various software programs), adding machine, office equipment.
