About the Job Google's software engineers develop next‑generation technologies that change how billions of users connect, explore, and interact with information and one another. Our products handle information at massive scale and extend beyond web search. As a Software Engineer, you will work on a critical project, with opportunities to switch teams and projects as the business evolves. We need engineers who are versatile, display leadership qualities, and are enthusiastic to tackle full‑stack challenges.
Google Ads powers the open internet, building advertising products such as search, display, shopping, travel, and video advertising, along with analytics. We create trusted experiences between people and businesses with useful ads and help grow businesses of all sizes.
The US base salary range for this full‑time position is $141,000-$202,000 plus bonus, equity, and benefits. Salary is determined by role, level, location, and experience.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
2 years of software‑development experience in one or more programming languages, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree.
1 year of experience building and deploying recommendation‑system models (e.g., retrieval, prediction, ranking, personalization, search quality, embedding) in production.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields.
2 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
Experience developing accessible technologies.
Experience developing and implementing predictive algorithms for data analysis.
Responsibilities
Write product or system development code.
Collaborate with peers and stakeholders through design and code reviews to ensure best practices among available technologies (e.g., style guidelines, code checking, accuracy, testability, and efficiency).
Contribute to existing documentation or educational content and adapt content based on product/program updates and user feedback.
Triage product or system issues, debug, track, and resolve by analyzing sources of issues and their impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality.
