The Opportunity with McKinstry We are looking for a Senior Construction Project Engineer to be part of our growing National Design Build division in

Seattle, WA . In this role, you will assist with the management of projects, especially including document control, field operations, quality control, safety, fiscal performance, and other complex components.

Responsibilities

Serve as the on‑site point of contact for Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) and Document Control.

May serve as the on‑site point of contact for client, subcontractors, vendors, and field personnel.

Support Request for Proposal (RFP) process.

Coordinate equipment procurement with purchasing department and outside vendors to order and expedite material.

Assist in development of Scope of Work for subcontractors.

Oversee the scheduling and coordination of trades.

Assist with Project Controls:

Review and substantiate subcontractor billing.

Draft subcontract and purchasing agreements.

Assist with client billings.

Assume responsibility for fiscal performance of a project with oversight of Project Manager.

Assist in preparation of monthly project accounting review.

Manage to ensure accuracy of cost issue logs.

Maintain drawings, daily correspondence with trades, schedules, RFI logs, submittal logs, and Superintendent daily reports.

Create and respond to Requests for Information (RFI).

Create site‑specific work plans.

Process, review, log, and distribute submittals.

Create and publish Operations and Maintenance Manuals for client.

Obtain detailed knowledge of contract, drawings, and specification for project(s).

Maintain cost issue logs.

Assess site safety and implement actions to prevent injury to property and personnel.

Uphold and communicate McKinstry safety standards.

Coordinate with Safety team to create and communicate site safety plan.

Qualifications

Must have demonstrated proficiency for all the responsibilities of a Construction Project Engineer.

BA/BS degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Architecture, Facilities Management, or comparable degree—or equivalent work experience required.

Two (2) years of progressive project responsibilities in Project Engineer role required.

Knowledge of document control, construction management, commercial building process, and financial acumen required.

Intermediate knowledge of Autodesk Construction Cloud, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Project required; working knowledge of SharePoint preferred. PE, LEED professional designations preferred.

Pay Range $36.48 – $61.97 per hour; base pay may vary depending on location and experience. This is a non‑exempt, hourly role. A bonus may be provided as part of the compensation package.
