Manufacturing Engineering Manager
Our client in the Wilmington, NC area is hiring a Manufacturing Engineering Manager. They provide
difficult-to-manufacture and high-complexity precision machining components
for the
medical equipment & devices, aerospace and diversified industries .

The Manufacturing Engineering Manager manages the day‑to‑day activities of process engineering, communication with customers regarding requirements, customer quotes and proposals, organization and communication of engineering and product requirements to manufacturing and required parties. The Manager is responsible for product gross margins through process optimization.
Job Responsibilities
Support and enhance sales through technical customer support and project management
Manage the Customer First Article process to develop routers and manufacturing plans for new parts and improvements to existing parts.
Meeting company goals for gross margin performance through regular and targeted analysis of product processing and process capabilities
Continuous improvement of flow and methods for producing clear engineering instructions and requirements for manufacturing
Master manufacturing methods and optimization
Standardization of engineering procedures and outputs
Implement methods to improve accuracy of costing methods and standardization
Review of equipment, methods, and techniques to improve manufacturing efficiency (process Cp and machine cycle time optimization)
Implementation of metrics designed to measure and enhance efficiency
Assist manufacturing in the planning and layout of workflow, equipment, and assembly operations
Recruiting, hiring, coaching, and developing staff knowledge base
Budget and contingency planning
ISO9001, AS9100 and ISO13485 certification and compliance
Safety and OSHA compliance
Lean Six Sigma implementation where it makes sense
Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate department staff
Must be a team player as measured by his/her peers
Performs other related duties assigned
Requirements What you need to bring to this winning team?
Required
Bachelor's degree in Engineering
7+ years of progressive operational and management experience
Strong communication and customer service skills
Proven track record in the management of manufacturing operations, engineering, and quality assurance
Relevant industry experience
Desired
Strong initiative with the ability to work independently or as part of a team
Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills
Experience working in a contract manufacturing environment
Experience with machining, plating, painting and assembly processes
