Overview The Director, Commerce leads the success of clients’ eCommerce initiatives by providing thought leadership on campaign strategies and optimization, building relationships, and establishing clear lines of communication with clients, partners, and internal stakeholders.

What You’ll Do The Director, Commerce will manage strategy, planning, optimization, and reporting of client campaigns, particularly Amazon growth and acceleration. Mastery of Amazon Marketing Services (AMS) Paid Search, Sponsored Product Listings, and Amazon Media Group (AMG) services such as on-site display advertising and AAP is required.

Responsibilities

Motivate and manage an eCommerce team to create, develop, and execute campaigns within budget and time parameters.

Oversee the client strategy and growth of Amazon Marketing Services (AMS) Paid Search/Sponsored Product and Amazon Media Group (AMG) services.

Be the subject matter expert and educate teams and clients on the eCommerce retail environment.

Build end-to-end eCommerce strategy and plans for the client.

Assist internal teams within the Commerce practice in growing each client’s business.

Work with cross-functional teams to provide insight and recommendations.

Develop, manage, and monitor client service delivery executions of assigned accounts.

Oversee process development and execution management.

Assure quality control of media planning and implementation.

Prepare and present annual financial and staffing plans.

Implement planning process for the assigned accounts and holistic media planning across paid search platforms and initiatives.

Coordinate efforts across different digital media channels to drive optimized recommendations.

Continuously evaluate and improve all digital media opportunities.

Embrace and encourage a culture based on teamwork, collaboration, and intellectual curiosity.

Motivate, lead, and manage internal teams to drive programs that meet client performance and business objectives.

Drive adoption of stated account management best practices through example setting, positive reinforcement, and behavioral correction.

Conduct performance reviews and career path plans.

Provide training to direct reports as needed.

Facilitate the development and documentation of best practices for improving operational efficiencies within the team and the group.

Foster strong relationships with internal teams and client groups.

Develop action plans for achieving and measuring media success, including setting key metrics, measurement, and optimization strategies.

Advocate the value of eCommerce and help educate clients, partners, and internal teams on the latest developments and capabilities in this evolving media channel.

Provide team direction for improving campaign performance through optimization and implementation of new features and strategies.

Lead presentations to clients and internal teams showcasing campaign strategy and performance results.

Develop, manage, and monitor client P&L’s for assigned accounts.

Implement holistic media planning.

Introduce process development, quality assurance, and best practices input.

Interface with other department leads to share ideas, communicate service offerings, and deliver new solutions for clients.

Keep senior management apprised of key client opportunities, potential risks, and other key nuances that affect business health.

Develop a complete understanding of each client’s goals, markets, needs, and expectations.

Attend client meetings on an ongoing basis, interface with executive and middle management levels during meetings and presentations.

Advocate across functional areas within client relationships to develop rapport and deliver complex solutions.

Communicate and implement a participation planning process for all assigned accounts.

Resolve client problems and use conflict management skills within a professional environment.

Manage strategy development and execution for complex marketing analysis disciplines such as segmentation, attitudinal/motivational analysis, concept/copy testing, sales forecasting, response prediction, advertising effectiveness, consumer profiling, customer profitability analysis (lifetime value), media mix modelling, conversion attribution analysis, and ROI measurement.

Leverage syndicated digital research to benchmark trends and manage expectations of forecasted trends.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or higher preferred; experience in marketing, advertising, business, or related fields.

7+ years of account management experience in online advertising or e-commerce with increasing responsibility.

5+ years of interactive marketing or business consulting experience using data to drive targeting and marketing recommendations.

4+ years of team management experience.

eCommerce experience required.

Experience with Amazon Marketing Services (AMS) Paid Search/Sponsored Product Listings and Amazon Media Group (AMG) services.

Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret campaign performance data and provide optimization recommendations.

Understanding of best practices for leveraging social media for brand communication.

Knowledge of statistical methods and testing methodology preferred.

Deep knowledge of ad serving platforms and online analytic solutions.

Excellent relationship building, diplomacy, and decision making skills with creative thinking.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with intermediate to advanced Excel skills.

Compensation Compensation Range: $119,510 - $171,675 annually.
