Position Overview Sr. Network Engineer

– Responsible for the development, maintenance, configuration, deployment, and support of network and computing systems, providing hands‑on technical support, and troubleshooting solutions for all systems, including routers, switches, LAN/WAN (video, VoIP, and data networks), firewalls, wireless access points, cloud networking, and other network infrastructure devices.

Core Responsibilities • Responsible for Incident Management ensuring that incidents are effectively escalated, managed, and resolved with full communication of status, plans, and actions to management and customers. • Monitoring and oversight of network performance, capacity, and tune related network components. • Bringing forward new ideas, providing recommendations to enhance network performance, reliability, and support capabilities. • Troubleshoot and support networking concepts and protocols such as: VLAN, VRF, STP, HSRP/VRRP, SDWAN, IP Subnetting, MPLS, OSPF, and BGP routing. • Supporting network automation systems related to configuration management, rule development, policy enforcement and reporting. • Creates network design packages and updates master documentation to reflect as‑built configurations. • Designs QoS policies, performance metrics, and support procedures for voice, video and data services. • Requires extensive firewall design, deployment, monitoring, and troubleshooting experience. • Performs in‑depth protocol and network analysis to determine root cause of impact. Provides level 2/3 support for incidents and supports daily operations and administration of LAN and WAN systems; performs scheduled maintenance; triages user requests; logs, coordinates, and tracks requests for assistance related to IT‑supported systems.

Essential Responsibilities

Manages service transitions for new deployments to ensure quality products are delivered into production.

Independently identify, troubleshoot, document, and escalate complex problems.

Represents Infrastructure as part of Enterprise Architecture.

Creates network design packages and updates master documentation to reflect as‑built configurations.

Partners with customers, vendors, and technology groups to understand network requirements, and create optimal solutions.

Provides support for critical network problems, including occasional on‑call responsibilities for escalated issues.

Performs in‑depth protocol and network analysis to determine root cause of application and network performance related problems.

Builds/replaces network hardware and software configurations per design.

Additional Responsibilities

Critical Systems Service Level (uptime performance) for systems that are championed.

Delivery of priority projects.

Maintain complete and accurate documentation for all LAN/WAN responsibilities.

IT Service Request resolution.

Knowledge & Skills Minimum Education Required

– High School or GED

Minimum Years of Relevant Work Experience Required

– 5 to 10 years

Certifications or Licenses Required

– Cisco Certification CCNP

Other Training, Technical Skills, or Knowledge Required

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Troubleshoot & support networking concepts and protocols such as: VLAN, STP, HSRP/VRRP, VRF, IP Subnetting, MPLS, OSPF, DMZ, and BGP routing.

Abilities and Behaviors

Configure and troubleshoot server load balancing mechanisms and algorithms.

Proficient understanding and experience using configuration management and/or diagnostic tools, monitoring applications and performance analysis tools.

Will work with distributed, complex enterprise deployments including: multi‑tiered environments, virtualization technologies, operating systems, routing, monitoring, storage connectivity, capacity planning, backups, network security.

Interactions 75% of role involves interaction (verbal or written) with PFCU Staff and IT Team members.

Physical Demands & Environmental/Working Conditions Ability to regularly work flexible hours including nights and weekends to perform hardware and software upgrades and to provide on‑call support. Requires ability to sit for prolonged periods, perform repetitive tasks, work with confidential information, and work in a climate‑controlled environment. Exerts up to 20 lbs. of force occasionally.

Compensation The hiring range for this position in Florida is $94,320 to $141,480 and in California is $106,560 to $159,840 per year. The base pay will take into account internal equity and may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, knowledge, skills, and experience. A bonus and/or long‑term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, along with the full range of medical, financial, and other benefits.
