Advanced Practice Nurse - Critical Care- Day/Night shift rotation

Responsibilities
The University Hospital Critical Care Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) (Nurse Practitioner, NP) provides direct patient care services to critically ill patients in an intensive care setting in collaboration with and under the supervision of the Surgical Critical Care Team. The APN performs physical exams, collects, and documents data, conducts diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, orders and schedules laboratory studies and professional consultations, prescribes appropriate interventions and medications. Coordinates the care and discharge of patients and provides direct patient care services. The APN contributes to excellence in patient care, research, teaching, and provides leadership to the organization.
Qualifications
Currently licensed as RN in the State of New Jersey and certified as APN by the Board of Nursing. MSN or DNP Graduate of accredited Nurse Practitioner Program, Adult Acute Care Nurse Practitioner program and or Critical Care Fellowship Program is strongly preferred. Three (3) years as a registered nurse required, preferably in an ICU setting. One (1) year experience as an APN, preferably in an ICU setting or an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience. BLS and ACLS required. CCRN preferred. Primary hours will be 12-24-hour shifts covering seven (7) days per week including holidays, nights, and weekends. Schedule may be changed by administrative or clinical leadership to meet department needs.
