Responsibilities
The ICE offices are open from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, allowing an unpaid hour for lunch daily. Work schedules may vary according to the project schedule. This is an onsite position reporting to the ICE office 5 days per week.

Responsibilities
- Perform a variety of geotechnical design, field drilling and foundation testing, analyze collected data, and provide timely reporting of results under the supervision of the Principal Geotechnical Engineer.
- Learn and become proficient with geotechnical software including A-Pile, L-Pile, Slide, GRLWEAP, and Settle 3D.
- Primarily work in Georgia, with projects across the Southeast including North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, Louisiana, Mississippi, Florida, and Alabama.
- Collaborate with the geotechnical group and assist with geotechnical design and foundation testing as needed under the supervision of the Principal Geotechnical Engineer.
- Maintain organized documentation/archives of design files, drawings, and construction submittals.
- Foster proactive communication with the geotechnical group, other disciplines, clients, and subconsultants.
- Provide construction assistance and respond to Requests for Information (RFIs) as necessary.
- Pursue and obtain Professional Engineer Licensure.
- Experience using commonly used geotechnical engineering software.
- Knowledgeable in job cost, scheduling, safety, and construction concepts.
- Strong communication skills are expected, both oral and written.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.
- Must complete a pre-employment screening; ICE is a drug-free workplace.
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related field with a Geotechnical concentration required.
- EIT certification required or must be obtained within 6 months of hire and Professional Engineer (PE) within 4 years of hire.
- 0-5 years of geotechnical experience required.
- This position requires minimal lifting, up to 40 pounds on an infrequent basis.
- Hand and eye coordination is necessary for computer data entry, calculators, and testing equipment.
- Ability to travel and visit work sites under adverse environmental conditions, including loud noise levels, high dust and dirt, and extreme temperatures.
- Ability to visually examine construction materials and finished infrastructure structures.
