Surgical Technician

Position Overview:
Assists in preparing for and during surgery by performing routine and delegated duties according to standards and policies of the department and hospital to assure quality patient care.
Education:
Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma.
HS Diploma: High School or General Education (GED) or equivalent education/experience.
Other: Completion of a formal accredited Operating Room Technician program.
Certification & Licensure:
BLS—Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider.
Preferred Experience (Typically Acquired In):
Two (2) years scrubbing experience at CPMC required.
Skills And Knowledge:
Basic knowledge of surgical procedures, equipment, and supplies.
Requires communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
Requires flexibility to accommodate emergencies as well as changing schedules and priorities.
