Position Overview BME Strategies, founded in 2004, is a Massachusetts-based consulting firm specializing in public health design and implementation programming for local, regional, and state governments. The Manager, Creative and Communications is a key member of BME’s Business Development team and is responsible for shaping and stewarding BME’s brand. This role focuses on creative direction, visual design, strategic communications, and BD enablement, delivering compelling marketing content across digital, print, and social media channels.

Key Responsibilities Design Leadership and Creative Direction

Lead the development of high-quality visual assets for digital and print media, including brochures, websites, social media graphics, email templates, and advertisements.

Maintain and evolve brand identity, ensuring consistent application across all marketing channels and materials.

Manage the design process from concept to execution, providing guidance, feedback, and approval on creative deliverables.

Collaborate with external vendors, agencies, and freelancers to enhance the organization’s design capabilities.

Support design and layout for business development and proposal collaterals.

Content Creation and Management

Oversee content creation for marketing campaigns, including copywriting, photography, video production, and graphics.

Ensure all content is engaging, on-brand, and optimized for the intended audience and platform.

Collaborate with team members to create and manage a content calendar, serving as lead project manager and ensuring timely delivery of content.

Communications/Marketing Strategy and Campaign Management

Develop and execute external communications and marketing strategies to support BME Strategies’ brand growth and customer engagement.

Oversee the creation, implementation, and measurement of integrated marketing campaigns across email, social media, digital advertising, and events.

Update and manage BME’s online presence, including website, LinkedIn, and other externally facing content platforms.

Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure marketing initiatives align with company goals.

Conduct market research to identify trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape to inform marketing strategies.

Performance Analysis and Reporting

Develop, monitor, and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate the effectiveness of marketing campaigns and design projects.

Provide regular reports to senior management on campaign performance, budget tracking, and design impact.

Use data insights to continuously optimize strategies, improving ROI and meeting business objectives.

Budget Management

Allocate resources effectively to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.

Track expenditures and adjust strategies as needed to stay within budget while achieving marketing goals.

Other duties may be assigned to support client work when surge capacity is needed.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Graphic Design, Communications, or related field (Master’s preferred).

5+ years of experience in marketing, design, or a related field, with at least 2–3 years in a leadership or managerial role.

Proven experience managing multi-channel marketing campaigns and leading creative teams.

Strong proficiency in design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign), Sketch, Figma, etc.

Knowledge of marketing automation tools, content management systems (CMS), and analytics platforms.

Excellent understanding of branding, graphic design principles, and marketing best practices.

Solid project management skills with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.

Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally and lead teams.

Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and optimize campaigns for maximum impact.

Strong portfolio showcasing creative and marketing work (both digital and print).

Ability to adapt in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

A passion for creativity and staying ahead of industry trends.

Exposure to and/or experience with the public health field is highly desired, but not required.

Working Conditions

Remote work, with occasional travel to client sites, conferences, or meetings as required.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced consulting environment.

Benefits

Expected range is $70,000 – $100,000 annually.
