GENERAL SUMMARY:

Shares responsibility for supervising picking, packing, shipping, and receiving operations in the warehouse. Responsible for accountability of supply inventory. Printing, sorting, distributing daily orders and rush orders

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Performs duties of Warehouse Supervisor in their absence.
  2. Perform quality control of packed orders as needed to ensure orders are packed accurately and properly.
  3. Rate shop to determine best shipping method to send overweight packages (ex., UPS, FedEx, Commercial Truck)
  4. Fills out truck bills of lading.
  5. Prints, sorts, and distributes daily invoices and rush orders daily.
  6. Completes assembly orders.
  7. Prepares orders for outside vendors.
  8. Assist Supervisor onboarding new employees.
  9. Operate sit-down and stand-up forklift.
  10. Performs forklift training of employees as needed.
  11. Checks the weekly inventory of packing supplies and orders when quantity is low.
  12. Maintains current knowledge of the commercial shipping industry.
  13. Maintains working knowledge of all subordinate positions in the warehouse.
  14. Actively demonstrates teamwork.
  15. Identifies problems, find, and implements solutions.
  16. Works with Print/Production supervisory staff to ensure efficient use of warehouse space.
  17. Performs other duties as assigned

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP (reports directly to): WAREHOUSE SUPERVISOR

MINIMUM SKILLS REQUIRED FOR ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (Select only one under each category):

Education/Technical Knowledge:

Requires a thorough knowledge of a given vocation or trade procedures, or a working knowledge of broad shop or trade procedures, or training in commonly used commercial business machines, methods and practices.

Additional Skills Needed:

  1. High school graduate preferred. GED acceptable with equivalent work experience
  2. Basic math required
  3. Read scales and postage meter
  4. Excellent communication skills
  5. General knowledge in shipping procedures
  6. Forklift Operations
  7. Previous training in mailing and shipping operations desirable

Experience:

One year up to 3 years
