General objective of the role
The Inventory & Warehouse Specialist plays a key role in supporting the Purchasing, Warehouse and Operations teams with all aspects of daily warehouse processes of shipping and receiving materials and products, as well as ensuring the accuracy and availability of inventory. The role may also involve assisting the After-Sales team on specialty projects depending on availability.
Reporting lines and interactions
This role reports directly to the US Purchasing Manager. Internally, you will support the Operations and Warehouse Managers and work closely with other teams across the company. Externally, you will liaise with transport companies and our European teammates as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess and review current inventory status to ensure optimal stock levels and availability.
- Collaborate with Purchasing and Operations departments on forecasting shipments and deliveries.
- Coordinate with the Purchasing department on monitoring and follow up on all Engineering Change Orders (ECO) and Design Changes.
- Transfer quality control issues and complaints to internal departments when relevant, ensuring corrective actions are implemented.
- Utilize and improve the ERP-based supply and stock management system by managing order receipts.
- Collaborate with the purchasing and marketing teams to promote excess or slow-moving inventory by identifying parts for potential promotional campaigns.
- Support logistics coordination, including shipment tracking, customs documentation, and ensuring timely delivery of goods.
- Contribute to process improvements and cost-saving initiatives.
- Assist after-sales team with QC and specialty projects depending on availability.
Qualifications
- High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree in Logistics, or a related field is preferred.
- Two or more years of proven experience in inventory management, or supply chain operations.
- Proficiency with ERP or inventory management systems. Training on internal ERP system will be provided.
- Forklift certification is necessary. Certification is required within the 1st 30 days of employment, if not currently certified.
