Bruker Nano (BNANO) is one of Bruker’s four operating segments. It provides customers in academic and governmental institutions, life science, materials, and applied industries with tools to determine characteristics of matter and visualize the structure of molecules. Divisions within BNANO include Bruker AXS, Bruker Nano Analytics, Bruker Nano Surfaces and Metrology, Fluorescence Microscopy, and Canopy.

Responsibilities The Product Support Engineer is a visible and key customer‑facing role responsible for providing individual contribution and customer support to enable “Best in Class” post‑sale instrumentation support within the assigned region for BNSM.

Provide “Best in Class” post‑sale support and drive continuous improvement of the BNSM customer experience.

Execute current processes, procedures, and controls while identifying and recommending improvement opportunities.

Maintain a high level of technical understanding and system‑level perspective, including hands‑on experience with semi‑metrology techniques.

Essential Functions

30%: Work directly with customers to diagnose BNS instrument, user, and application issues.

Diagnose, research, test, develop, optimize, communicate, and execute the most efficient solution plan for complex electro‑mechanical hardware/software instrument issues, user issues, and post‑sale application issues.

Optimize instrument and/or accessory capability and performance to meet specification and/or customer application on both standard and non‑standard samples.

Create and maintain a record of activity in the support database.

25%: Independent ownership to execute analysis, provide recommendations, and own the execution of service deliverables for New Product Introduction (NPI) and Product Life Cycle (PLC) for specific instruments or groups of instruments and application modules.

Develop design‑for‑service (DfS) recommendations and cross‑functional alignment.

Field‑Replaceable Unit (FRU) strategy and implementation.

Create, author, test, and publish service documentation and training collateral.

Design and conduct training courses, lab sessions, and certification programs for service engineers.

Analyse improvement opportunities and recommend solutions.

Recommend end‑of‑manufacturing and obsolescence support strategy.

20%: Serve as the primary technical liaison between factory and field for a specific instrument or group of instruments and application modules.

15%: Empower customers and internal teams to effectively use BNS instruments through theory of operation and training.

10%: Install and qualify BNS instrument, upgrade, and/or accessory.

Additional Responsibilities

Other duties as assigned.

Environmental Requirements

35% travel domestically and internationally on short notice.

Ability to work in government sites, cleanrooms, production floors, and laboratory environments.

Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Customer focused, passionate about science and technology, and eager to enable customers with optical and stylus technology. Demonstrated analytical capability, theoretical knowledge of physics, and working knowledge of electronics, mechanics, control systems, computers, networking, and common tooling such as oscilloscopes and multimeters. Ability to install, qualify, and train customers and internal teams on complex electro‑mechanical instrumentation and application modules. Ability to author technical publications and training material and to communicate clearly and effectively.

Qualifications Educational / Experience Requirements:

Minimum of a PhD in a scientific or engineering field from an accredited institution.

Or a master’s degree in a scientific or engineering field from an accredited institution with at least 3 years of relevant experience.

Or a bachelor’s degree in a scientific or engineering field from an accredited institution with at least 5 years of relevant experience.

Base salary range: $86,400 – $156,000. Additional benefits include performance‑related incentive, 401(k) with company match, employee stock purchase plan, medical and dental plans, life insurance, disability insurance, employee assistance program, paid time off, vacation, sick time and holidays.
