The Commercial Sales Director is responsible for leading and growing the dealership’s commercial and fleet vehicle business, with a primary focus on Ford Pro products and services. This role drives revenue through strategic business development, relationship management, and leadership of the commercial sales team while ensuring exceptional customer satisfaction and long‑term account retention. Key Responsibilities

Develop and execute strategies to grow commercial, fleet, and government sales volume and profitability. Identify and pursue new business opportunities with local, regional, and national commercial accounts. Represent the dealership at trade shows, networking events, and industry conferences to promote commercial vehicle capabilities and generate new business opportunities. Build and maintain strong relationships with business owners, fleet managers, municipalities, and government agencies. Oversee bidding, RFP responses, and contract negotiations. Ensure compliance with Ford Fleet programs, incentives, and ordering processes. Act as the dealership’s subject‑matter expert on Ford Pro vehicles, upfits, telematics, charging solutions, and commercial financing. Coordinate with upfitters, body companies, and vendors to deliver turnkey commercial solutions. Partner with service and parts departments to deliver Ford Pro Elite offerings such as telematics, uptime programs, and customized maintenance plans. Stay current on Ford Pro initiatives, EV offerings, and commercial vehicle availability. Recruit, train, mentor, and manage a high‑performing commercial sales team. Set performance goals, track KPIs, and coach team members to exceed targets. Foster a culture of accountability and growth. Collaborate with finance, service, parts, and uplift departments to ensure seamless delivery and support. Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction through proactive communication and problem resolution. Develop account retention strategies and long‑term partnership plans. Oversee delivery timelines, follow‑up processes, and ongoing account support. Monitor sales performance, margins, inventory, and forecasting. Prepare and present sales reports to dealership leadership. Ensure accurate documentation, compliance, and CRM usage. Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree preferred; high school diploma or equivalent required. Minimum 3 years of automotive commercial and fleet sales experience; Ford experience strongly preferred. Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales goals and account growth. Previous leadership or management experience is strongly preferred. Strong knowledge of Ford commercial vehicles and fleet programs (Ford Pro experience a plus). Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship‑building skills. Proficiency with CRM systems and Microsoft Office. Ability to manage complex deals and deliver integrated fleet solutions. Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record (per dealership insurance guidelines). Strategic thinking and business development mindset. Leadership and team‑building abilities. Strong organizational and time‑management skills. Customer‑focused with a consultative sales approach. Ability to work cross‑functional within the dealership. Benefits
