Base Pay Range $36.74/hr - $46.45/hr

Job Description The Laboratory Technical Support Specialist is a multi-skilled position that efficiently processes patient and specimen workflow to support the Laboratory’s commitment to provide accurate, reliable, and timely information to clinicians. The Laboratory Technical Support Specialist (TSS) provides professional, courteous, and competent phlebotomy and/or clerical services for Hospital inpatients, outpatients, physicians, nursing staff, and support services.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent

Six months phlebotomy experience in hospital setting includes venipuncture for all ages and neonatal capillary collection preferred.

Minimum one year Laboratory TSS equivalent experience during past 3 years preferred.

Basic PC based knowledge required; experience with networked environments and medical-clinical applications preferred.

Possess manual dexterity and ability to learn new procedures and updates within a specified time frame.

Minimum one year experience specimen accessioning, processing, packaging for transport and registration preferred.

Must speak, write, and read sufficient English for patient care and customer service activities.

Available to work weekends on a rotational basis and holidays as needed.

Available to work flexible hours (varied start times).

Available enterprise wide and other shifts occasionally as needed for work assignments.

License/Certification/Registration Requirements California Phlebotomy Certification (CPT 1). This is an enterprise position.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions Light Work - Walking or standing up to 49% of shift, duties require standard movement, may occasionally lift up to 20 lbs.
