Manufacturing Engineer Level III - New Shepard (Night shift) Join

as a Manufacturing Engineer Level III in our advanced manufacturing facility in Kent, WA to support production of reusable human‑rated spacecraft systems for the New Shepard program. You will act as the technical link between design engineering and production, supporting the full manufacturing lifecycle from design reviews to hands‑on shop floor troubleshooting in a fast‑paced, highly technical environment.

Responsibilities

Provide direct, on‑ground support to production.

Lead assembly, installation, and testing efforts while ensuring compliance with all engineering and quality requirements.

Act as a cross‑functional liaison between design, test, manufacturing, and operations teams.

Own investigation and disposition of non‑conforming parts and assemblies using detailed work instructions.

Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective actions (RCCA) to eliminate recurring issues.

Participate in gated design and operational reviews; prepare and evaluate technical deliverables.

Contribute to design‑for‑manufacturability (DFM) discussions and provide feedback during engineering design reviews.

Drive continuous improvement initiatives through Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) to reduce nonconformances and improve manufacturability.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field.

5+ years of relevant industry experience in manufacturing or systems integration.

Experience working with complex structural assemblies, including alignment, tolerance stack‑ups, torquing, and fastening.

Proven ability to troubleshoot and dispose non‑conforming hardware (NC).

Working knowledge of structural materials, fasteners, bonding techniques, and surface treatments.

Experienced in breaking down intricate engineering schematics into streamlined, process‑driven work instructions.

Proficient in standard engineering software tools and capable of learning new systems quickly.

Strong attention to detail, a hands‑on mindset, and ownership of quality at every stage of production.

Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.

Strong time management and multitasking abilities in a dynamic production environment.

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, or related engineering discipline.

Proficiency with 3D CAD software (Creo/ProE preferred).

Experience with hand calculations, CFD, and Finite Element Analysis (ANSYS preferred).

Familiarity with test instrumentation and data acquisition systems.

Working knowledge of GD&T per ASME Y14.5.

Hands‑on experience machining, assembling, or maintaining pressurized/mechanical systems.

Compensation WA applicants: $108,795.00 – $152,311.95. Other site ranges may differ.
